Dear list, currently I have a Debian Wheezy with Kernel 3.6.6 and Xen 4.2 as Dom0 and an Ubuntu 12.04 as a HVM DomU with vga passthrough for my Nvidia GT 520 card working. Hardware is a Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5 with IOMMU and an Athlon II. I used the howto by David Techer to get my card running. Hi All- Is it possible yet to pass through a ATI or Nvidia GPU as the primary VGA card to a Win 7/8 VM, and have it fully functional there (DXVA etc), without crashing the guest or the host during operation or when resetting the guest? My current goal is to use one nvidia gtx460 card and the onboard intel hd4000 on dom0, and then do passthrough for another nvidia gtx460 to a Windows domU. I know there are patches from Jean David Techer for Xen and nvidia vga passthrough. Are those patches and steps (such as dumping the VGA rom) needed if I only want to use the nvidia card on Dom0? I also understood that new(er) versions the proprietary nvidia drivers does not officially support non-quadro cards with Xen on both dom0 and domU....
