"could not open file /var/lock/samba/unexpected.tdb"
When I start winbindd (Samba v2.2.3a on Linux), I get the entries in
log.winbindd shown below. What's the story on all those complaints about
file "unexpected.tdb"? There is no general problem with Samba writing to
that subdirectory:
# ll /var/lock/samba/

don't get this prompt, and if the original user modifies the file, when

CTDB status reports as OK on all nodes.
Our filesystem passes ping_pong in both read and read/write, data
increment behaving as expected.
We have a lot of users trying to edit Excel and Word docs (Office 2010)
so this is happening quite often.

what are *.tdb files?
In /varcache/samba/ I have several .tdb files. Like brlock.tdb,
locking.tdb, ntdrivers.tdb, etc. Excusing my ignorance, what are these
files, and what do they do? And why must they be copied when migrating
from one samba server to a new one?

How to repair corrupt ntprinters.tdb?
Hi,
we are using samba 3.0.24 as a printspooler for 80 network printers with
a 500kB ntprinters.tdb for some years now. When we recently restarted
samba we noticed that the ntprinters.tdb automatically shrinked to 24kB
and printing was no longer possible.
tdbdump of the original tdb-file is impossible too:
"Failed to open ntprinters.tdb"
The strange thing about this: we can solve the...

Hi,
Does someone know a document which explains the TDB structure.

I need to understand why some of the TDBs like messages.tdb, unexpected.tdb,

TDB_CLEAR_IF_FIRST tdb flags.
Why some TDBs are opend with O_RDWR|O_CREAT flags viz....

CTDB problems
Hi,
This morning our CTDB managed cluster took a nosedive. We had member
machines with hung smbd tasks which causes them to reboot, and the
cluster did not come back up consistently. We eventually got it more or
less stable with two nodes out of the 3, but we're still seeing worrying
messages, eg we've just noti...
