the print statements (since they induce an immediate syntax error).
Since 2.4 doesn't support `from __future__ import print_function`, the
only alternative I guess is shimming in a print function. This is a
maintenance effort that I don't want to do right now (and, TBQH, I
feel that the proper maintainer should be responsible for).
ddunbar, how does this weight against your "causing large problems
with the code" criterion for supporting older versions? As I believe
that you are the author and maintainer of lit, are you planning on
fixing this compatibil...

TBQH, I'd be okay losing some performance in this case. And we can
always be aggressive about upgrading non-productive [2] functions to
productive if they only call productive functions and have no infinite
loops.

I'll see what I can do. Since on that machine I only have python3 and
python2.7, I can't easily verify that my changes still

TBQH I'm pretty set on this being a guide for language frontends, rather
than a general "user's guide" for the IR. The IR has at least two very
different classes of users: optimization writers (which are mostly
transforming IR) and language frontend writers (which are mostly creating

[LLVMdev] "Mapping High-Level Constructs to LLVM IR" Github URL
Hi Chris,
Thanks for the supporting words! I'm pushing the document both for
egoistic motives (like so many others, I'll learn a ton from this document)
and for altruistic motives - the easier it is to implement a new language,
the more interesting and highly well-thought out languages we will see in
the future. And I see it as my purpose, as a mostly black-box user of
LLVM, to enhance

PHPonRails ?
I''ve have a very tight schedule project that MUST (not my option), be
developed in PHP. Is there a Rails based framework for this platform?
I like the Rails way of things, but in this case, I cannot choose the
programming language, so please don''t offend me :-)
Thanks in advance,
Alessandro

[LLVMdev] [RFC] Defining Infinite Loops
Hello everyone,
The topic of whether or not LLVM allows for infinite loops has come up a lot recently (several times this week already). Regarding motivation, there are two important facts:
1. Some languages, such as Java, have well-defined infinite loops. See:
http://docs.oracle.com/javase/specs/jls/se7/html/jls-17.html#jls-17.4.9

Improving SCEV's behavior around IR level no-wrap flags
Hi all,
This is about a project I've been prototyping on-and-off for a while
that has finally reached a point where I can claim it to be
"potentially viable". I'd like to gather some input from the
community before moving too far ahead.
# The problem
There is a representation issue within SCEV that prevents it from
fully using information from nsw/nuw flags present in the
