The problem is that applications that want to make a "window list" or taskbar don't draw them. It isn't a fatal error, the applications simply act like nothing happened. Question: All the newer Gnome distributions seem to configure themselves with two small "taskbars" (panels, I guess) one at the top and one at the bottom. I prefer the older scheme with one larger one (usually) at the bottom. When I install Centos5 in the near future I'm going to want to be able to restore the old-style panels. Running Ubuntu 10.10 with Gnome and Compiz. Wine 1.3.21. For a long time I've been having problems with some games where if they are fullscreen the taskbars are still showing. The Compiz Legacy fullscreen workaround does nothing for this. I've been scouring the net for something that works, but so far haven't found anything. Any advice on how to fix this or to troublshoot? Running CentOS 4.4 and something drastic appears to have happened with my display setup - application icons no longer appear in taskbar at bottom of display (when minimized) but disappear off bottom right-hand corner. ...tab out of Source engine games (L4D2, TF2, and so forth) without a problem. It's never given me an issue before, so I can tab out and check for IMs and such. However, recently it won't let me do so. It may have been because I reinstalled Lucid Lynx Ubuntu, but now if anything brings the taskbar to the front, the game still runs but it won't let me refocus. The taskbar stays up, and the gamescreen shrinks ever-so-slightly, as if it is in a window-picker. What could be doing this, any suggestions on how to fix it? Other games seem to work fine.

...sterday, I had a problem with the station and I had to shut it down with the power button of the Linux station. After a restart, I had a message telling me that there were three applications which were shutted down uncleanly (I don't remember which) and know there is nothing anymore in the taskbar at the bottom of the screen (it is gray). I'm trying to install Wine 20011004. ./tools/wineinstall crashed my box so I went for manually installing. When I try ./tools/winecheck I get a 024. Hi, The minimize plugin conflicts with Animation. For example, it doesn't let Animation draw shade animations, and interferes with other window event animations. The animation plugin now minimizes the relevant effects to taskbar, so using the two plugins together doesn't make sense anymore.
