Undefined method "full_description" when trying to run "rake spec"
Hello guys, I''m getting this weird error when trying to run the specs using "rake spec": /home/mauricio/NetBeansProjects/talkies/vendor/rails/actionpack/lib/action_controller/test_process.rb:471:in `method_missing'': undefined method `full_description'' for #<Spec::Rails::Example::ControllerExampleGroup::Subclass_73::Subclass_9:0x7f5fdca4a810> (NoMethodError) from /usr/lib64/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/rspec-...

Agressive echo cancelation
...Meaning, is it possible to dial back the aggressive mode to have a happy medium between Regular and the Aggressive defaults. I have a situation where Normal echo cancellation is not quite enough, however when I turn on aggressive mode We are attacking it to hard and I am unhappy with the walkie talkie behaviour of the Aggressive mode. Thanks for any feedback. ~ron

Low RX volume and half duplex/"walkie-talkie" on AEX-804E
...ned SIP trunk) are all fine. On many [but not all] calls to or from the PSTN, I'm getting two complaints - #1 is low receive (i.e. from the PSTN) volume #2 (which seems to get significantly worse if I try tweaking bumping up the tx/rx gain in Zapata.conf) is that if the person in our office is talking all inbound audio is muted, but not the other way around (i.e. half duplex, but not half duplex both directions if that makes any sense) Further compromising my sanity is that #1 seems hard for me to duplicate - calls to or from my cell phone, for example, always sound fine. Local calls are &quo...

Full Duplex
We've had an issue since we went live nearly two years ago on Asterisk where people complain about not being able to talk while someone else is talking. I had assumed for a very long time this was because of the phones we went live with (Grandstream GXP-2000's) and for the longest time I believed this was a speakerphone problem only. Last week during budgets, a request to buy new phones was put in to fix this problem. It was then that...

Voice activity detection
...st is, can you build in a pre and post buffer into the VAD? In mine, if I detect voice any time between now and say a quarter second later, I start sending, and then I wait a half second or whatever after I stop detecting. You pretty much have to have this, or people start getting anxious talking over an internet stream. They have to enunciate expressions like "ya probably" because the ya isn't detected, only the probably. By sending a bit of padding around the detection, it also prevents the detector from dropping out mid-sentence. It takes it from being a scream...

Can I recommend theora to my readers yet? Please?
...iate, with both IE and Firefox being critical on Windows). Unfortunately, as near as I can tell, that's not possible yet. Or am I mistaken? To be clear, I understand that Theora is the video codec, Vorbis is the audio codec, and Ogg is the container format. I need a solution that works for talkies. (: And for audio-only, of course. Sound quality issue
Greetings everyone, I've been having some strange issues with my Asterisk box and some snom phones. In some cases, when I talk, the sound in the other end is cut off, I stop earing the background noise - looks like a walkie-talkie. I've tried this between phones in the same network and in all but one this happens. The one where it doesn't happen is the one connected directly to the router. I've tried different codecs with and without transcoding, including g722, and, on that phone, it all goes well. Could this...

AVM B1
Hi, I'm trying to get Asterisk working with the AVM B1 card. I've tried every instruction set I can find, but to no avail. I think I'm getting mixed up as to what Zaptel/CAPI configuration to use. If someone is currently using one of these cards, would it be possible to mail me a few bits of the important config files? Sorry if I should have included something else too, but let me
