Debian Lenny dom0 package on a Thinkpad t500
Hi, I''ve been trying to build dom0 and xen hypervisor package for my thinkpad laptop, but it''s not an easy task. Has anybody done that? Note that I''m not interested in running anything but Debian packages, I think it''s a too ugly setup otherwise, and I don''t want c**p on my laptop. R Memory Usage Concerns
...a programmer whose primarily worked in Python. As I've been playing around with R, I've noticed that R seems to use a *lot* of memory, especially compared to Python. Here's an example of what I'm talking about. I have a sample data file whose characteristics are like this: [evan at t500 ~]$ ls -lh 20090708.tab -rw-rw-r-- 1 evan evan 63M 2009-07-08 20:56 20090708.tab [evan at t500 ~]$ head 20090708.tab spice 1247036405.04 0.0141088962555 spice 1247036405.01 0.046797990799 spice 1247036405.13 0.0137498378754 spice 1247036404.87 0.0594480037689 spice 1247036405.02 0.0170919895172 to...

The debian dom0 64 bits kernel crashes at boot time
Hi, I just wanted to give a bit of feedback here. i have tried the Xen amd64 kernel from the kernel team and it just crashes with a stack dump on my laptop (thinkpad t500, that is a quite new stuff but will be a common thing very soon I beleive). Then I have tried the kernel 2.6.27 from the Xen repository that you can find here: http://xenbits.xensource.com/ext/linux-2.6.27-xen.hg It's booting and working quite well even though I didn't succeed yet to sta...

How to compile the debian xen kernel?
...el in Lenny. Now the only thing is that I didn't find the way you guys are using to compile the Debian Xen kernel, and didn't find any doc about it either. Where can I find such doc, or how do I compile your kernel work (so I can integrate drivers for my e1000e and wifi 5300 on my thinkpad t500 laptop)? Thomas

AUdio Meter Application results in Access Violation
...f in module AudioMeter.exe. Read of address 00000000". Dismissing the box with "OK" just causes it to reappear, ad infinitum. I wrote the author and he doesn't have much to contribute, but he does say that the app uses WDM. I'm running wine in Ubuntu Hardy on an old Dell T500. Wine does successfully run some VB based apps. None use audio though. Native linux audio apps such as Fldigi run fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

C6: Suspend on laptop close doesn't work
Hello, I've been running Fedora on my Lenovo X61s laptop for many (Fedora) generations. Fedora 15, however, was not my cup of tea, so I've decided to wipe out Fedora, and do a clean install of CentOS 6 (x86_64). Everything works OK, except that the laptop does not suspend when I close the lid. I've checked the settings in "Power Management", and it is set to suspend when

Monkey Island 2: Special Edition from Steam
I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 64bit on a Thinkpad T500, I believe I'm using the integrated Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics that come with it. I'm using the default WINE install, I think version 1.1.42. I'm trying to run Monkey Island 2: Special Edition downloaded from Steam. It actually sort of works. It installed just fine. When I first ra...

USB ports on Lenovo T400 do not work after a suspend/resume
Hi, FreeBSD-9 works fine on this Lenovo T400 - except that suspending with no USB devices plugged in result in no ports working after resume. If I have a device plugged in during suspend - on any port - then all the ports work fine after resume. I've attached usbconfig and acpidump output. here's what is logged in the kernel buffer during suspend and resume: Her'es the suspend:
