echotraining on T1 circuits
Hello,
We just had some new T1s turned up today to replace others that our contract
has run out on and we are now getting more echo on the new T1 lines than we
had on the old ones.
The T1 type is 24-channel, D4/AMI SF Robbed-bit(the same as the T1s they
replaced)
The problem is that we are getting echo on about 10% of the calls...

Can this box handle 8 T1s (PSTN) with Asterisk?
Hi all,
I am handed a project to setup *. The requirement is that it can handle
8 T1s. Half of the calls coming into the system will be routed to SIP
extensions (with transcoding). The machine we have in our disposal is a
new dual Xeon 3.2gHz server with 2g of ram and an dual 1000mb nic. Voice
will be coming in from the PSTN (through 2 quad digium cards) in
g711ulaw, and most of th...

T1 config for robbed-bit E&M AMI
I have a couple of live T1s sitting around and they are not ISDN(like most
of the people that are using Asterisk seem to be using), they are regular
old 24 channel, robbed-bit, E&M wink start, D4AMI T1 circuits.
Can I get these T1s to work with a T100P Digium card and asterisk?

Zaptel problems on Debian
I just installed a TE410P on a Debian Sarge system running kernel
2.6.11-1-686-smp. Zaptel and Asterisk seem to be working fine.
However, I have a couple of problems with the TE410P and Zaptel.
First, the TE410P is showing me red alarms on 2 of the 4 T1s. This
board (the TE410P) was just moved from another machine running REL3
and all 4 T1s were working there. I don't know why only two T1s are
being "recognized" on the Debian system.
Secondly, I no longer have zttool, which I used to have on REL3. How
can I query from Zaptel...

Digium T1 Card Questions
I have a couple of questions about Digium's T1 cards, such as the
TE410P. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.
1) Do they support standard T1s or are they ISDN-only?
2) Do you know of anyone offering support for configuring T1s for Digium
cards, and if so at what cost?
Thanks,
Matthew Roth

Can anybody recommend a good T1/PRI provider ?
Are you looking for local or Long distance? What will these T1s primarily be
used for(inbound/outbound, domestic, local, long distance, international)
How important are per minute rates to you? how many minutes do you expect to
use per month?
We are in Tampa Florida and have 15 T1s from several different providers so
I may be able to refer you to one if it...

T1 multiplexer (or ?) for failover in large installation
Hi,
Please forgive my terminology, still a bit new to T1s and such.
I'm looking for a way to have 5 T1s from a carrier terminate into some type
of box (multiplexer?), then be able to plug 7 asterisk servers into that box
(each with single port T1 card) and be able to have 2 * servers go down at
any given time and not actually have the carrier see th...

Double DTMF digits
...nerated tone as well as the full length asterisk
generated tone and ultimately perceive each digit twice.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
I have reproduced this in an environment
* with one asterisk server that is both the feature server and the
media gateway, and is timing off of network T1s
* with two servers, one feature server (timing off of ztdummy) and
one media gateway (timing off of network T1s) using IAX as the inter
asterisk protocol
It is pretty easy to reproduce:
-Dial a PSTN number(like your cell) from a sip phone using inband DTMF,
and configured in asterisk sip.co...

Dual T400P, SMP, performance issues
Hi,
We are trying to validate Asterisk as a media gateway PRI <-> SIP with two
T400P (8 T1s) per box. The first
experience with BOX1 (Compaq, 2.53 GHz, 1 Gb RAM) and just one T400P was
encouraging - on the load
test with 3 T1s worth of calls we had on average 75% idle CPU.
Not so with BOX2 (Dell, single 2.6 GHz Xeon, 1 Gb RAM, 2 T400P) and BOX3
(Dell, dual 2.6 GHz Xeon,
2 Gb RAM, 2 T400P...

Max T1s in a server?
I have seen mention of limiting a single server to no more than 100
trunks. With Sangoma having an 9 T1 card that kind of blows that limit.
How many T1's can we have on a single server assuming dual Xeons?
Our application calls for 122 IP Phones and 120 analog ports for faxes.
Its an executive suite and we need the fax ports. No way around that
requirement.
Thanks,
Allen.

DTMF weirdness
I've got a handful of T1s going into a TE410. When I place calls into the
system over these T1s, the system either doesn't decode all of the DTMF
digits or it decodes ones that aren't there.
When the system places calls out, there is no problem doing the DTMF
detection. Everything works great.

Does Asterisk support NI-1 (DMS 100) and NI-2 for T1s?
Hi list,
For a client I am setting up a system which will use T1 PRI from Primus, who
offer only NI-1 and NI-2 protocols for D-Channels. Previousely I have only
used switchtypes euroISDN and National. Although the documentation says
Asterisk does support NI-1 ans NI-2, but wanted to get your opinion if you
have used these protocols on an Asterisk box and if there were any things to
consider. If

OT: DS3 -> VoIP Hardware Recommendations
Hello all,
We are looking for some hardware requirements/recommendations to be
able to handle a full DS3's worth of TDM -> VoIP traffic. The DS3 would
bring 24 calls per T1 x 28 T1s = 672 simultaneous calls. We would then
need to convert those calls into G729 SIP VoIP calls to send to our
asterisk box over ethernet. Since everything is going in/out of asterisk
is 729, and no features are needed, I think it can handle the routing.
If not, I can whip up a SER box.
We curr...

Inbound call center - reliability \ scalabil ity with queues
For an inbound call center with 4 T1s and 30-50 agents on you would do just
fine with a single, one-processor machine. We have handled more than this on
a single P4 server although we use astGUIclient instead of Asterisk queues,
but the load is very similar. I would recommend a Sangoma Quad T1 card
because they are about 30% more effic...

Asterisk Hardware Requirements for a 50-100 Seat Call Center
I am looking for estimated hardware requirements for running a 50 to 100
seat call center off of a single Asterisk server.
The Asterisk server will have one quad T1 card installed (probably a
Digium TE410P) with two T1s connected. The OS is Debian GNU/Linux
(woody) with a custom 2.4.xx kernel installed. It is preferable for the
server to have a single CPU and no shared IRQs.
I would really appreciate any comments regarding the feasibility of this
scenario, as well as any suggestions about hardware requiremen...

Asterisk Cluster
Hello Everyone,
I must deploy an asterisk system that can support
at least 500 pstn outbound calls.
It's a challenge as it's the first time i'm gonna build such a large
system.
I want to have your advice on hardware, software and so on . What i have in
my plan is a cluster of servers with quad PRI cards.
I will appreciate your advice.
Thank you all .
