I just installed a TE410P on a Debian Sarge system running kernel 2.6.11-1-686-smp. Zaptel and Asterisk seem to be working fine. However, I have a couple of problems with the TE410P and Zaptel. First, the TE410P is showing me red alarms on 2 of the 4 T1s. This board (the TE410P) was just moved from another machine running REL3 and all 4 T1s were working there. I don't know why only two T1s are being "recognized" on the Debian system. Secondly, I no longer have zttool, which I used to have on REL3. How can I query from Zaptel...

Hi, We are trying to validate Asterisk as a media gateway PRI <-> SIP with two T400P (8 T1s) per box. The first experience with BOX1 (Compaq, 2.53 GHz, 1 Gb RAM) and just one T400P was encouraging - on the load test with 3 T1s worth of calls we had on average 75% idle CPU. I have seen mention of limiting a single server to no more than 100 trunks. With Sangoma having an 9 T1 card that kind of blows that limit. How many T1's can we have on a single server assuming dual Xeons? Our application calls for 122 IP Phones and 120 analog ports for faxes. Its an executive suite and we need the fax ports. I've got a handful of T1s going into a TE410. When I place calls into the system over these T1s, the system either doesn't decode all of the DTMF digits or it decodes ones that aren't there. When the system places calls out, there is no problem doing the DTMF detection. Everything works great.

I am looking for estimated hardware requirements for running a 50 to 100 seat call center off of a single Asterisk server.
