Anything in error logs? POP3 duplicates sound like IMAP UIDs were changed (or are still changing?)

I guess these "white items" are messages marked as deleted but not
expunged. It is normal with Thunderbird, it does not expunge immediately
(probably can be configured to do so).

Did you try to delete the dovecots cache? I had the same problem once,
when I restored a backup of some mails. I deleted all dovecot.index* on

qcc package & syndromic surveillance (multivar CUSUM?)
Dear R Community:
I am working on a public health early warning system, and
I see that the qcc package allows for CUSUM and other statistical quality tests
but I am not sure if my project is a good match for qcc functions as written.
Any advice you may have is very much appreciated.
I have four years worth of daily counts of emergency room admissions for
different conditions (e.g. respiratory,

Undocumented bahavior of as.integer() (PR#2430)

And I suggest adding the previous exemple in the corresponding section in
as.integer.Rd. Moreover, the subset operation [] uses as.integer() and
consequently, can suffer from the same syndrome. A WARNING section in
Extract.Rd would be welcome too.

Bug#810964: [BUG] EDAC infomation partially missing

With AMD Opteron 6xxx processors, half of the memory controllers are
missing from /sys/devices/system/edac/mc
Checked with single 6120 (dual memory controller) and twin 6344 (2x dual

I can't resist. Read the thread that was pointed to on lkml. ROTFLMAO.
*Real* UNIX addressed these problems long ago. I guess the "Gurus"
suffer from NIH (Not Invented Here) syndrome.
Given a "general purpose" system, tunability is a must. UNIX, as
delivered by USL in such examples as Sys V, had tunables that let admins
tune to their needs. A single "swappiness" value is woefully inadequate.
Among the tunables were how much memory for cache, how much for...

suspect that Micorsoft have "improved" the code to "optimise" performance

In my particular case we have found that "no oplocks" reduces the rate of
file trashing...but am not sure if this totally fixes the problem yet. A
very worrying syndrome for us Linux adminz.
Advice on Microsoft word = send it back to Gates, (and you don't have to go
