Hierarchy separator recommendation?
Dear dovecot list, I'm using Maildir as mailbox format. Is there any recommendation for the namespace hierarchy separator? Currently I didn't set any. So it is the default of dot '.' I'm switiching from a rather unknown IMAP Server called DBMail (http://www.dbmail.org/) Planning to synchronize the mailboxes via imapsync (https://github.com/imapsync/imapsync) Is there anything I should be thinking / planning about? Or can i always change this namespace hierarchy separator later on? Any...

General performance of RC5
Hi all, Switiching to RC5, there is a visible decrease in performance to access via IMAP large accounts (>1G) with mutiple mailboxes per accounts. In RC4, there was no delay visible by a human when accessing locally. Now it takes up to 4 or 5 secs. (running on OpenSuse, mysql 5.1.35 for auth, dbox as back e...

ESS with Xemacs? [vs. Emacs, slightly off topic]
...of Xemacs, I finally discovered a major problem. With Emacs, when I use R, I start Emacs twice (at least), in different viewports, once as emacs -f R and once as emacs myfile.R Then I try commands in the first one, and, when they work (which isn't very often), I cut the command with C-w, switich to the other viewport, and yank it into myfile.R with C-y. This takes very few keystrokes and does not require the mouse. Then myfile.R has something I can re-run (about 1/10 the size of .Rhistory). It seems that you can't do this in Xemacs. In particular, the kill buffer is not common to t...

fail-over server
Hi, Suppose you have 2 identical Asterisk servers and 1 alias IP address that you assign to either one, according to system failures, etc. Also suppose that all SIP clients register requests go to the alias IP address. Imagine server1 fails and server2 gets the alias IP address. Correct me if I'm wrong but I would have to wait at least 60 seconds before most SIP clients re-register to
