keytabs basics linux <=> AD ?
hi users
a novice here hoping to grasp fundamentals soon
I have a samba+sssd as a client to an AD - I have all the
keytabs for a host(I think) but I noticed weird(to me at
least) smbclient behavior.
when I do:
$ smbclient -L swir -U me at AAA.PRIVATE.DOM -k
all works, clients sees local samba's shares, when I do:
$ smbclient -L swir.private.aaa.private.dom -U
pe243 at AAA.PRIVATE.DOM -k
gss_init_sec_context failed with [Unspecified GSS failure.
Minor code may provide more information: Server

Making a smooth transition between sources?
...ble to make a smooth transition to an
ezstream instance that I can run on the same server as the radio station.
Unfortunately, my experiments haven't found a way I can make a transition
without knocking off all my clients. :-(
Any idea about best practices on this?

...ct UTF-8 titles when
using Nicecast, but wrong ones when using ezstream.
I'm supposedly an expert on character encodings :-D but I haven't figured
out exactly where the issue is in ezstream.
I also have my own Python code to do things like "auto-Twitter"
https://twitter.com/#!/swirlyRadioList
You can see my code to do it here: https://github.com/rec/radio
I haven't prettied it up for release but I tend to write fairly readable
code.

Shoutcast directory listing?
This is absolutely not "off-topic" and if this list will not support
this VERY IMPORTANT discussion, then I will be happy to host the
discussion on a different list for those who are interested. I have been
trying to solve this for some time. Much of the problem so far has been
Shoutcast internal problems (on their site) which I assume are cleared
up now. My current assumption is it

Upload Progress Bar Problems
...uploaded. So the
progress bar jumps from 1 to 100 with no in between steps. I can step
through with a debugger and see this session being updated with file
size, bit rate, etc. information as the file is being uploaded, but no
luck with the bar.
Should I resign myself to putting up a pretty swirly animated graphic
and telling the user "it won''t be long now" ? has anybody had any
success with the getting the upload progress bar to work? can anybody
provide any sample application code or suggest alternatives to using the
progress bar? thanks for any help...

The rest of the steps would probably be better answered on the Shoutcast
forums, but you might find others on this list with more experience who can
add something.

This isn't critical - I'm getting good results already - but I'm always
interested in improving. Thanks in advance!
