Swen virus and spam appears to be coming from Samba list
Shortly after I subscribed to this Samba list I started receiving numerous emails infected with the Swen/Gibe worm. Many of these emails contained the email addresses of Samba list members. I believe a subscriber of the Samba list has the Swen virus. Has anyone else on this list been getting emails infected with the Swen/Gibe worm? Please update your virus definitions and do a virus scan just to make...

Just a thought, all this "swen" stuff, this list
...dows garbage. It's basically enough to ruin any email address you sign up to the list with; it doesn't matter if you have a virus scanner integrated with your MTA, I really don't want to see 200 virus notifications a day because i posted to this list. I have been getting about 20MB of swen a day since i first posted here. Not to espouse conspiracy theories, but it really seems like this list is under attack. Can there be sme warning about this on the list signup page? Like, "Use a throwaway email address for this list", etc. I'm not complaining, just that I think som...

Several people on this mailing list have the W32/Swen@MM virus
Ever since I signed up for this mailing list and sent my first question, I have been bombarded with the W32/Swen@MM and the emails aren't all from the same person. Is anyone else experiencing this? Rob

SOLARIS_2.6: request_oplock_break
I saw a little discussion about this a few weeks ago but nothing concrete. We're running samba-1.9.18p8 under Solaris 2.6x86. I am periodically getting the following in the logfiles, usually _many_ at a time: 1998/11/03 14:42:00 request_oplock_break: no response received to oplock break request to pid 5411 on port 40884 for dev = 1980040, inode = 33c4d When I look up the PID (in this case

Setting scales for ggplot2 with facets
...A" and ylim = c(42,102) for facet "B". Since the data is out of these ranges, setting facet_grid(factor ~ ., scales = "free_y") does not achieve the goal . Is there a decent way to achieve this or not? or I have to drop data points outside y-ranges as a quick hack? Swen Laur

I joined this mailing list today, and after I few minutes I was getting the SWEN virus emailed to me. I unsubscribed from the list and I'm still getting this virus. Do you know of anyway to clear this up?

Globalize strategy for content ?
Hello, what are your strategy for using Globalize to translate sites with lot of full text ? I mean where do you translate your String ? I saw on the swen''s wiki (http://www.artweb-design.de/articles/2006/06/13/real-fun-get-on-rails-with-globalize-take-2), that you can use the locale:set_translation method: Locale.set_translation(''Welcome'', Language.pick(''de-DE''), ''Willkommen'') and...

If you are using Microsoft Outlook and you are reading this message you need to make 500% sure you are not propagating virii. I posted our support (at) nufone d0t net addy on this mailing list last night and have never posted it in an unprotected fashion like that anywhere else. So far today we have received over a hundred email virii to that address. I suggest you upgrade to a more secure

too much spam - filtering the mailinglist
Hi ! Today i deleted more then 60(!) spam-messages on this list I think it would be a good idea, to limit the possible senders of this list to the addresses which are subscribed. Spam and Viruses on the Samba mailing list was: RE: Re:samba Digest, Vol 9, Issue 41
...ns a virus, although our filter >should have >caught that one...). > >Anyone else getting loads of MS e-mails or Samba list e-mails with >attachments? A lot of the traffic being generated (specifically the ones referencing Microsoft) off this list recently is because of the Gibe or Swen (same thing) worm. Do a google search for this if you're interested in the details. While this is a problem, another generator of useless traffic off this list is the Outlook "Out of the office" autoresponder and misconfigured email servers that bounce messages back to the list for...

Can't compile 3.01 on Solaris
I can't get 3.0.1 to fully compile on my Solaris machines(2.6 and 2.8) Below is an example the error I am getting. Note, that it errored out earlier with the same problem, I typed make again and it went on to the next file, got the same error about a file with extension .o.o not existing. The actual error: --- Compiling lib/replace1.c with -KPIC mv: cannot access lib/replace1.po.o.o ***

Re: samba Digest, Vol 9, Issue 41
I've been getting a lot of messages with attachments on this list, but I haven't opened any of the e-mails to see if the attachments were legitimate. I also started getting tons of "MS Security...", "Microsoft", etc. e-mails with attachments which I have not opened either (especially figuring that the "Microsoft" e-mail contains a virus, although our filter
