pch with plot and legend
I'm trying to plot a scatterplot of two variables using pch to plot
different characters based on a third factor. Here is my example
> data("ToothGrowth")
> attach(ToothGrowth)
> levels(supp)
[1] "OJ" "VC"
> plot(len ~ dose,pch=as.numeric(supp))
> legend(locator(1),pch=as.numeric(supp),legend=levels(supp))
The command as.numeric(supp) returns 2 2

Manipulating x axis in stripchart
Hi all,
I I need to manipulate the x axis in a stripchart.
I will use one of the data sets included in R to
explain what I need to do.
attach(ToothGrowth)
stripchart(len[supp=='VC']~dose[supp=='VC'],
vertical=TRUE, group.names=c('A','A','A'))
stripchart(len[supp=='OJ']~dose[supp=='OJ'], add=TRUE,
vertical=TRUE, at=c(1:3)+.1,

Nil result on find & pretty print
I am new to Ruby and to Ruby on Rails and have spent the last few days
trying to get my head around it. I think I am already hooked but am
suffering badly from years of programming a non-OO RDBMS. I am trying
to learn by attempting to produce a system for my work.
I have a main table sdocs which has a field supplier_id which is an
entry in another table (suppliers) to lookup supplier name etc.

Is it possible to add standard error bars to the means on interaction plots?
Thanks

Again, about boxplot
Thank you for your guys reply for my previous question. But I got one more
question about the boxplot. With the code in the R-help:
boxplot(len ~ dose, data = ToothGrowth,
boxwex = 0.25, at = 1:3 - 0.2,
subset = supp == "VC", col = "yellow",
main = "Guinea Pigs' Tooth Growth",
xlab = "Vitamin C dose mg",

Changing x-axis on boxplot
Dear List,
?
I am creating a boxplot with two subsets, very similar to the example by Roger
Bivand at ?boxplot (reproduced below).? I am trying to change the labels on the
x-axis to have one number to cover both subsets.? I can do this in other plots
by using axis=FALSE followed by a separate axis() command.? I have also tried
variations in the names= argument but can't get it to work.?

aggregate.formula
This relates to a message from Christophe Pallier to r-help some time ago.
Like myself, he finds aggregate very useful, but the interface a little
cumbersome. I've implemented a more compact formula interface, found at
the bottom of this message:
data(ToothGrowth)
# I used to aggregate like this:
aggregate(list(len=ToothGrowth$len),

adding the mean and standard deviation to boxplots
Dear list,
How can I add the mean and standard deviation to each of the boxplots using the example provided in the boxplot function?
boxplot(len ~ dose, data = ToothGrowth,
boxwex = 0.25, at = 1:3 - 0.2,
subset = supp == "VC", col = "yellow",
main = "Guinea Pigs' Tooth Growth",

Arules: R Crashes when running eclat with tidLists=TRUE
Hello,
I'm using the eclat function of the arules package (1.0-6) for the
identification of frequent itemsets. I need the tidLists, but if I set
in the function tidLists=TRUE R crashes (Windows XP Professional SP3,
32 bit, R version 2.12.1 (2010-12-16), reproducible on two different
computers) with two different error messages or non at all. Minimum
examples are:

Problem with Apriori
Good morning
When I try to run an Apriori, I keep often the following message:
checking subsets of size 1Error in apriori(tr, parameter = list(supp =

Other time it works fine on the same data. What can be the reason for this?

Cisco GW, PRI & CallerID Name
Does anybody have callerid name coming in on a Cisco PRI via a Cisco
gateway via SIP to *? I've seen a few people ask and a few people that
say it should work, but I've never seen an actual working config.
I do a debug on our Cisco gateway and I can see the callerid name,
however none of the features that should send it via SIP seem to work.
Cisco docs say to use the following:

Serious memory leak in asterisk (manager)
hi all
after getting some (or - a lot) of messages from nagios, claiming
asterisk
to be down, I found this out...
astping xxx times repeatedly, and the manager fails to start. this
little
script was used for testing. below, I've pasted the output from 'ps
axfv' before and after the DoS, showing asterisk having allocated ~2GB
RAM.

Simple Missing cases Function
Dear all
I have written a function to perform a very simple but useful task which I
do regularly. It is designed to show how many values are missing from each
variable in a data.frame. In its current form it works but is slow because I
have used several loops to achieve this simple task.
Can anyone see a more efficient way to get the same results? Or is there
existing function which does

Modules Maintaining or Removing
Hallo all,
I was trying to Build LLVM with the cmake option LLVM_ENABLE_MODULES
just out of curiosity. I used the RELEASE_400/final tag.
It didn't work as I almost expected.
So I'm wondering if the modulemaps aren't maintained anymore?
If they aren't maintained anymore, why aren't they removed and that
cmake option also removed?
