Anyone using SuperMicro SuperServer 6014P-8R?
Hi,
Is anyone here using the SuperMicro SuperServer 6014P-8R with Asterisk?
I'm especially interested if you've used it with a TE405P or TE410P.
Cheers
Tony

SuperServer 6024H-82R and Centos 3.3
I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have any familiarity with this
server? It uses the Super X6DH8-G2 motherboard. Currently, we've added an
Adaptec 2120S Ultra320 RAID PCI Controller Card to get RAID 5 capability. The
installation bombs and from what I can tell it looks like we're getting SCSI
resets or the controller is going offline maybe. Any ideas would be greatly
appreciated.

I assume the cause of the problem consists in many number of TCP/IP connections that torrent client establishes.
Any ideas?
Maybe I can tune somehow a TCP/IP via kernel, sysctl or pf settings?

Use 8GB RAM on Pentium D?
Hello:
I have a Supermicro SuperServer 5015P-TR.
It has a Pentium D and is running CentOS x86_64.
Can this machine use 8GB RAM?
I think it should because it is running a 64 bit
OS, but I am concerned because it is fundamentally
32 bit hardware.
Anyone have any experience in this area?
Thanks,
Neil

Changing "Shutdown" to "Log off" in Win95?
The Samba set up we're using to support 25 or so Win 95 clients
is working well, but my users are usually not up to complicated
tasks. Has anyone found a way to get logging out down to a single
action (like, Start/Logout), instead of Start/Shutdown/Close all
programs and log in as another user/Yes?
I'm tired of explaining this already! :)

Triple- or Quad-display single-card graphics solutions
So, after some discussion of our new control workstations, we are iterating in on a solution; we are looking at a 1U short-depth SuperMicro SuperServer 5017R-MF with a graphics card in the PCI-Ex16 expansion slot. However, the display requirements have increased to 3 or more monitors for future expansion, so I was wondering whether anyone had any experience with triple- or quad-display single card solutions. Thus far, I have found two promising so...

STABLE regression with AIC-7902 controller.
I have a Supermicro SuperServer 6013P-8 system which features a X5DPR-8G2
motherboard with embedded Adaptec AIC-7902 dual-Ultra320 SCSI controller.
Said system boots and runs fine with 4.8-RELEASE (with a slight cosmetic
problem during boot that can be cured by building a kernel without eisa
support). With STABLE (as of 19 June...

Getting rid of "You haven't logged on here before"
According to the Samba docs, there's really no good way
to have Windows stop asking "You haven't logged on here before.
Would you like your settings saved?" or whatever nonsense
it actually says.
However, due to headaches getting profiles COPIED and not
merged with local copies as well as privacy concerns, I'd like to blast
the profiles subdirectory constantly. But that

Zaptel 1.4.8 breaks tor2 support on CentOS 5.1? (kernel panic)

[PATCH nbdkit] Add support for socket activation.
Socket activation (aka systemd socket activation) is a simple protocol
that lets you pass in an opened, listening socket to a server.
Supporting socket activation allows you to use a modern superserver to
serve infrequent NBD requests without needing nbdkit to be running the
whole time.
Although the protocol was invented by systemd, it has been implemented
in a few other places, and the protocol is almost trivially simple.
This implementation is based on the one in libvirt.

Following the instructions at:
http://www.debianplanet.org/node.php?id=818
I obtained the stock 'woody' kernel and root image, installed them on
the TFTP server (running 'atftpd') as suggested, restarted the superserver
and the DHCP server, and started the Shuttle.
The machine successfully found the tftp/dhcp server, obtained an IP
address for itself, and gave me a "boot:" prompt. I entered the label
corresponding to the boot image I wanted to install, and this seemd to

Some boards won't boot with X100/101P
Yo,
I have an intresting problem. When I tried the X100P in a Supermicro 8060
quad Xeon box
(http://www.supermicro.com/PRODUCT/SUPERServer/SuperServer8060.htm), the
box refused to boot completely (screen remained blank). A colleague of
mine tried his X101P in an Asus CUR-DLS board, with the exact same
results. BIOS has been upgraded to the latest version, but it didn't
resolve the problem. Also, the TDMx0P and E100P work flawle...

Supermicro X7SPE (Atom) as Asterisk server?
Has anyone used this board as an Asterisk server?

I'm mostly interested about the possible compatibility issues this board
may have with the AEX800 card.
