[Ajax on Rails]How to pass an object via param
I''m trying to pass an object as a parameter on a link_to_remote. What
I do is pretty simple:
link_to_remote ''Insert subquestion'', :url => {:action =>
''add_subquestion'', :question => @question}, :update => '''', :method
=> :get
But, obviously, what I get is a string which has the address of the
object. Can I "translate" this string back to the object? Is...

Testing for Significance Between Logistic Regressions
...le.
I have a logistic regression containing every running back drafted
between 1980-2000. I have created an object, logistic.glm. I also
have an object, sec.glm, that contains only players from the SEC. I
am curious into determining whether or not the difference between the
two is sigificant.
Subquestion 1: Can I do this for each of the coefficents, beta0 and
beta1, individually? i.e there may be a statistically signicant
difference in the intercept but not in the rate of decay as a function
of my independent variable
Subquestion 2: Can the same method of testing differences in
regressions b...

When I run Sweave on the result these lines disappear without a trace.
Is this intentional?
Subquestion: is there a link to some Sweave documentation from the main CRAN
or R page?

u32 hash-es ?
...mask 0x000000ff at 13
to :
hashkey mask 0x000000XX at 13 :"), fill in..
For those that dont see reason for doing this, one more calculation :
10 class-C nets * 256 ips = 2560 checks
so in the simple classC scenario we have 10 fold speed up, and for the 64 ips - 25 times faster....
Subquestion : is there a way to see exactly which subsystem takes what cpu time, on the top/atop
output we see just the total SYSTEM cpu time but now how it is divided by the net framework..
if we have such info we will know how to tune the system better ?!

filter performance/optimization questions
hi
i''m using htb + u32 filters, and i was wondering if there is something one can
optimize at this stage. i have a lot of filters (~ 50.000 / interface, and
there are two interfaces), and around 4500 classes / interface. the traffic
going through this machine is something around 210-230mbit/s at 50kpps.
as you can imagine, the load is pretty high. in fact (as it''s a dual xeon at
