sco 5.0.5 not booting on hard disk
...I am trying to run SCO unix 5.0.5 with KVM. I have created the Virtual Machine with virt-manager. The installation runs correctly, but when the virtual machine reboots from hard disk, i obtain this message : "FATAL: No bootable device." If i run manually the virtual machine without the suboption "boot=on" in the "-drive" option, the virtual machine boots correctly. Why is "boot=on" preventing my VM to boot ? Is there a way to modify the .xml file for this VM to inform libvirt to not add "boot=on" ? Thanks Jean Michault.

ip-cref and route nat.
...SATA controller in my server. And problem is that it is not working. When I issue: # ip route nat <inet_ip_address> via <local_ip_address> I the answer is: RTNETLINK answers: invalid argument So seems like some option is not enabled in my kernel. Well actualy I have all options and suboptions enabled in my kernel configuration under "TCP/IP networking" -> "IP: advanced router". I''ve tried 2.6.8.1 kernel. And found out that there exist option "IP: fast network address translation" under "IP: advanced router" that is absent in 2....

Cannot chain to another PXE server on the same subnet
...the 3 option 43 values (should be over 1200 > characters long, 3 times total length minus 1). Oh, hm. That might work, at least experimentally. If it does (and maybe even if not), it might be interesting in the future to provide the ability to add/remove/replace individual vendor-encapsulated suboptions. Unfortunately, from what documentation I could find, the Altiris server generates its menu dynamically and makes no promise about what the item "types" will be. The boot item type appearing the menu will be sent by bstrap.0 in its next request, and must match one actually known to...

ip route nat madness.
Hello list. I may become crazy without your help. I''m not nubie, but... All worked with 2.4 kernel, but when I have to move to 2.6.8.1 it''s not. I''m using "ip route nat 231.222.222.111 via 172.16.1.13" to substitute inet address 231.222.222.111 on 172.16.1.13 during routing. Look at the output: _____________ myhost log # ip route list table local broadcast

Re: [PATCH] v2v: add --in-place mode
...appears in the wrong place in the list of options (sorted by 'p' > rather than 'i'). I don't know if this was intentional, but I think > it's wrong. I didn't realize the options went in a strict sorting order. Besides, at first I thought I'd make it a new -o suboption; then I changed my mind but didn't bother to adjust the position in the list. Thanks, Roman.

Compiling Kernel Modules
...it for an internal kernel module. What I've tried: I've installed the kernel source code, copied over the kernel settings (the entire /usr/src/kernels/2.6.... dir) onto it. run make menuconfig and selected modular reiserfs. A diff of the new and old configs shows only reiser module (and suboptions for selinux) has been enabled. So no other changes have been made. Now a make fs/reiserfs/ almost works, but it borks on some sort of .tmp_versions/reiserfs.mod problem (file not present). The resultant reiserfs.o doesn't work as reiserfs.ko (not sure if it should, though).. I can't...

[PATCH] v2v: add --in-place mode
In this mode, converting of the VM configuration, setting up the rollback path for error cases, transforming the VM storage and so on is taken care of by a third-party toolset, and virt-v2v is only supposed to tune up the guest OS directly inside the source VM, to enable it to boot and run under the input hypervisor. OpenSuse 11 hvm domU: screen resolution up to 640x480
Hello, I''ve recently installed a hvm domU opensuse 11 guest and I cannot set the screen resolution higher then 640x480. This seems very strange to me, because I don''t have any problem to set higher resolution on a windows 7 domU, using the following parameters in the configuration file: stdvga=1 videoram=16 What could the problem be? Is some video driver missing? -- Flavio
