[OT] Yoda Communications' VG-400 (4 Port FXO and 2 Port FXO/2 Port FXS)
...surprised me. Yoda seemed to have never played with * inhouse like they did with GnuGK. They had tested with FWD and Bell (no idea what the actual site is), but not *. I'll post the VG-400 settings here and on voip-info.org as soon as I get my notes together. Overall, I'm happy. It has sturdy construction, standard features, and most of all works just fine with *. -- JP Carballo http://www.netfone2x.com Bringing the world closer. It might look like I'm doing nothing, but at the cellular level, I'm really quite busy.

Grandstream BudgeTone - opinions??
...thinking about getting some of these phones to use with my Asterisk system.. So I would be interested to hear from the people who have tired and tested these phones.. What is the voice quality like using alaw/ulaw or G.729?? Are there any problems getting them to play nicely with Asterisk?? How sturdy is the construction (reciever, handset, buttons, cable connections, etc..) ?? How do they compare to the SNOM phones?? (I have used a SNOM 200) And anything else you can think of... :) Thanks.. -- ______________________________________________ http://www.linuxmail.org/ Now with e-mail forwardin...

Centos and colocation....
...d server with redundancy, great raid mirror, awesome software, great company updating security patches and a great company that repackages that for me from redhat. So far, other than the hardships of learning how to build the dang webserver with a ton of poorly instructed programs, centos has been sturdy, stable, and works like a charm, almost out of the box!! I would never want to repeat the experience of learning this stuff for the first time...never. But now that I passed what I hope is the last hard bump in the road, I can finally get some sleep, go outside, and start programming more websites...

BackgrounDRb New release.
...f the plugin dir is the drb server part of MiddleMan and the pluginroot/lib/ backgroundrb.rb file is the rails client side MiddleMan. One of the new things is much better threading job control. This is mostly invisible to you as a user of the plugin but it makes the whole system a lot more sturdy. It gives your worker objects the chance to clean up after themselves when they get deleted instead of just getting the kill brick dropped on them ;) Thanks to David Lemstra for the job management code! The other big new feature is a built in timer and a time to live argument for workers...

New laptop recomendation
Hi Tony, I've installed CentOS7 on a Latitude 7470 and can say for a fact that most of the suff just works, while some of it that doesn't (like HDMI, or KMS, nifty little feature I like to have) works with an Elrepo LT or ML kernels. Personally, I'd recommend the LT kernel. I also read in the RHEL 7.3 release notes that I2C support for Gen6 mobile CPUs was introduced. Thus as the

Different mdbox_rotate_size for primary and alternate storage
...to set two different limits for mdbox_rotate_size. Like, 50M for primary storage and 100M or larger for alternate storage. There is no mention in docs or such a possibility, so I assume it is not possible. Is that correct? While I am at it, is it possible to configure primary storage as maildir (sturdy indexes) and altstorage as mdbox (more delicate indexes)? Thanks, Paolo

multiline, cordless, expandable phone system and asterisk message waiting
...ere is background noise - if the base is also a corded phone, that'd be cool - call waiting caller id support - VMWI that works with telco supplied voicemail, most of the 2 line systems that have a built in answering machine don't seem to support this - 2.5mm headset jack on all handsets - sturdy belt clip on all handsets - rings tones for each line that are sufficiently different to really distinguish between lines. I had a 2 line panasonic corded phone that had ring tones that were so similar, I was never sure which line I was answering without looking at the lcd display - call logs sa...

Fwd:[Vocal] Question about Cisco IP hard phones
Interesting notes on the 79xx series. The 7920 is the wireless phone; not mentioned here. For a more complete guide to Cisco's phones, see: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/phones/ps379/products_data_sheets_list.html The 7902 is the "very inexpensive" Cisco phone, and it looks like it will be SCCP (Skinny) only. RAID-Z1 pool became faulted when a disk was removed.
...NLINE c2t4d0 UNAVAIL cannot open c2t5d0 ONLINE c2t6d0 ONLINE Oh wow, that''s really special. I''m not sure what''s going on at this point. I swear there''s no way I could have touched c2t2d0 by accident - this array is really sturdy and requires moderate physical effort to remove a disk from. Is this behavior "expected", or is this a bug? Furthermore, should I ever expect to be able to see my precious data again? snv b44, Pentium III 550. - Rich -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubb...

ATA shootout: PAP2T versus Grandstream Handytone 286
I'm considering a situation where I buy about twenty ATA devices. I've played with the Linksys / Cisco PAP2T, and got that working fine with some inbound and outbound faxing. The web GUI was okay. I'm seeing prices around $45 to $50 for this thing. It comes with two FXS ports, but I only need one FXS. I've seen the Grandstream Handytone 286 online. It looks promising as an

New laptop recomendation
Hi, I'm recently retired from my university job. I am looking for a laptop to run CentOS 6/7. My university was a traditional Dell site so I've used Latitude laptops for years, currently E6500/E6510. Anybody got any experience of running CentOS on the newer Dell Latitudes E5000 or E7000. These are not certified according to Redhats' Hardware Guide. Alternatively Precision

Polycom 500, asterisk user opinions?
Hi all, I'm researching IP phones for a new office setup. We will need 30 phones. I have read the wiki and the polycom site for the phones, but I still had some questions about real world experience with these phones. -According to the documentation, the 500 series ( and 600, according to a polycom rep ) have built in hubs. Has anybody noticed performance issues in this setup, when
