[LLVMdev] Has anyone sucessfully compile the llvm code using visual studio 2005?
HI everyone. I am using visual studio 2005 and windows xp to compile the llvm project. I downloaded the project with svn client. I thought this action may gurantee my code is up to date and integrate. However, after I opened the solution located in the win32 directory and build the solution, the visual studio output many many errors, and even few projects can be compiled to generate runable .exe

[LLVMdev] What can llvm provide when writing a new compiler?
Hi everyone. Because there is still a little confusion about the huge document, I want to know what llvm can provide when we customize our new compiler? For example, a normal compiler includes lexer, parser, intermediate code generator , optimizer and target code generator. According to llvm documents, it seems that llvm can provide a better intermediate code presentation. And what else can it

Updating Wine and using native DLLs
Hey, I just have the two questions from the subject. I'd like to keep wine updated to latest version (even if not the stable), how can I do it? Second, I would like to use the native DLLs from my windows copy, is there an instructive on how to replace wine's with those? I'd like to test if some games that do not work currently will work with native dlls. Thank you in advance.

Silly question about 5.1
...m -q --whatprovides /etc/redhat-release centos-release-5-1.0.el5.centos.1 On my CentOS 4 box, /etc/redhat-release says: [dave at fraud ~]# cat /etc/redhat-release CentOS release 4.5 (Final) Shouldn't /etc/redhat-release on the CentOS 5 box say "5.1?" CentOS 5 and ndiswrapper
...ot? I built the 2.6.21 kernel by copying the config file for 2.6.18-8.1.1 from /boot and doing a "make oldconfig". Everything is x86_64. Cheers, Dave P.S. Frosting on the cake: the secure digital card reader built into the laptop also works with the 2.6.21 kernel. -- Politics, n. Installing nVidia driver on remote CentOS 4
Hi, There's a linux cluster somewhere (using Rocks), and I use remote desktop (nxmachine) to do the work on the frontend of the cluster. The desktop is Gnome. And, I intend to install new nVidia driver, but it requires me to stop the X Server. I check around the internet, they say we can use the /etc/init.d/gdm stop, but I can't run it since the gdm file does not exist. Another alternative

Will Firefox 2.X be included/supported in CentOS 5?
I know this mostly depends on what is/will be done upstream, but with the recent announcement that Firefox 1.5.X will only receive updates until April 24, 2007, is Firefox 2.X in CentOS' future? Alfred

[LLVMdev] Running external build tool in Xcode?
Hi everyone.I am using Mac OS X to inspect the llvm source code. Although the make command works perfectly when compiling the source code, the Xcode tool prompted me: *Makefile:26: Makefile.config: No such file or directory* *Makefile:58: /Makefile.rules: No such file or directory* I downloaded the latest SVN code from the web site, built it without any modification in Xcode context. tar bug in CentOS 4.6?
...ry thirty days since then given my tape rotation. If I remove the PhotoShop_CS2.exe file, the backup completes normally. So, is this a tar bug (doesn't like big files now) or is there some other issue like available shared memory that's causing the problem? Cheers, Dave -- Politics, n. yum hangs when Reading Local RPMDB
All of a sudden yum hangs on a Centos 4.5 (updated to the latest patch before 4.6) when I try to use it. "clean metadata" didn't help. The output of -d5 shows it gets to the point of "Reading Local RPMDB" and then sits there. The process doesn't die, but doesn't seem to do anything from that point on. strace shows this: futex(0xb76dcae8, FUTEX_WAIT, 2, NULL I

Can't get past the splash screen
Hi, I have a remote frontend (it's kept in the room which I don't have access) which is installed with CentOS 4 and Rocks . So, to use the desktop(Gnome) of the frontend I use the freenx + nomachine following the guide in http://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?forum=20&topic_id=1640&viewmode=threaded. It worked. Then, I intended to add user, but I couldn't create the
