Tried with http://zhongshuobeijing.dyndns.org:7000/streamname.m3u but was blocked. And at last resolve: http://139.168.32.224:7000/streamname.m3u is that what you mean? no, perhaps you mean the localhost? "bicho" is its name. Pardon me if i'm confused on this. Will also, tomorrow, try your suggestion of port 443 and Ross' suggestion of the web port. cheers, iain On Wed,

icecast & china
hello list I'm preparing to do a sound project in china where I hope to broadcast an mp3 stream using Icecast2. I've set up test system (outside China) and it seems to be working happily (using Pd to generate audio and the extension "shoutcast~" to stream to the icecast server). I've asked a few people in china to tune into these broadcasts and have run into problems.

install_prereq install-unpackaged fails on Debian Buster
Hello, For the very first time, I tried the command bellow on a newly build Debian Buster box on which I successfully built Asterisk 17.2.0 before. I got : # contrib/scripts/install_prereq install-unpackaged *** Installing NBS (Network Broadcast Sound) *** A nbs-trunk/LICENSE A nbs-trunk/nbsclient.c A nbs-trunk/nbsd.c A nbs-trunk/nbs.h A nbs-trunk/nbscat.c A nbs-trunk/Makefile

Icecast in Macromedia Flash
Hello everybody, This topic was already published in the icecast development list but it did not interest many people there because it is related to Macromedia Flash and apparently all the development team is running Linux PPC (the flash plugin is not available for Linux PPC). For this reason, I was advised to transfer this topic to this regular icecast list. Sorry for those who subscribed to both

playlist handler questions
I have a bad habit of re-creating the wheel, and have the feeling Im missing some critical info, so... before I delve any deeper I wanted to throw this out there for some clarity: Im all kinds of confused about building a playlist handler. Lets say I wanted on demand streaming... (running icecast-1.3.12, ices-0.2.3 on RH7.2) I COULD conceivably write a cgi that says: heres a list of tunes check

Icecast in Macromedia Flash
Hi - Ok, I don't pretend to have answers for you, sorry, but here are some thoughts: [snip] > HERE IS THE PROBLEM: the code above works perfectly in a standalone swf file > but not when the swf is embedded into a webpage. So you have to assume that there is some difference between the embedded player and the standalone player. <p>> > I analyzed the logs of my icecast

Webcam streaming with ptalarbvorm
Hey all! I'm sure you've all been missing my webcam stream, so I decided to start it up again (also, I wanted to do it for my family overseas). However, this time, I'm doing things a little bit differently. For starters, the encoder is the current (as of about an hour ago) ptalarbvorm branch which is destined to become libtheora 1.2. Another difference is that I'm using

Re-Assembling SongData in Icecast Streams..
Right... I understand how the stream works and we have no confusion at all then. So I need to create a script to re-inject MP3 Metadata from my handy-dandy XML file (when it changes) which is easily done if, as you say, there're a few variables that the admin.cgi can listen for (of course Icecast has no admin.cgi) The info you've provided for Shoutcast is useful and you allude to

IceS output to alsa sound card
Hi Guys, I'd reflect Vieri's question actually, because there must be a way of doing it? Maybe not with ICES, but maybe combines with JackIT? The reason for my interest is I work in a radio station in Spain, and because of the geographics where I am we have to relay around a lot. If there is a way of sending an incoming feed into ICES, and sending it out in various directions, would

Hot Topic: Icecast in Macromedia Flash
Hi everybody, I am trying to build an mp3 player in Macromedia Flash that would work with Icecast. Using Flash as a mp3 player instead of Winamp, XMMS,. could democratize Icecast because Flash is cross-platform/cross-browser, it is installed on almost every computer connected to the internet and it will be embedded into a webpage. ice-metadata header incomplete?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I'm trying to write a PHP script that communicates with the Icecast2 server directly to retrieve current song information. Since the documentation for the ICE/SHOUT protocol is, frankly, pretty much non-existant, I did a search on Google and eventually came up with this site: http://www.smackfu.com/stuff/programming/shoutcast.html I did

Multiple ICES background daemons
Is there anyway to run multiple ices backgroud deamons and have more than one ices.pid file generated so that I can control each one seperately? I want to have mulitple ices streams running with different playlists and different stream names and control them using the signals. I start one ices process and it writes a file ices.pid to the /tmp directory and I can control it sy sending it

Icecast in Macromedia Flash
Hi Leo, Like you, I know think the problem doesn't come from the headers with Icecast. Shoutcast needs some header information before accepting to send the stream but not Icecast. The flash animation doesn't work with Icecast either. I tried adding the mp3 extension to my live stream and to serve a static mp3 through Icecast but I had the same results. Serving a static mp3 through apache

I'll get to the technical aspects of these letters in a bit; they require an a little thought and I'm knee deep in the codebook engine right now... > <RANT> > > I personally favor the MNG approach over the Ogg strategy because of the way > the licensing agreements read.
