What about scrapping the access logs for connections that have completed, or utilizing netstat outputs to get active listeners (minus sources)? Either of those options would get you remote IP addresses, both a slightly different view in that logs are after a connection closes, while netstat is while the connection is open. -----Original Message----- From: Icecast-dev <icecast-dev-bounces at

Clients, not always connecting since about 2.4.1, 2.4.2.
...ally I don't worry about it, but I had some comments about how long the stream I have was taking to buffer. I later put it down to re-connection attempts by the web player I'm using so have started to re-investigate this. So I hunted out a 2.4.0 kh8 server found here http://radionz-ice.streamguys.com/ (don't know what OS) and these streams switch seamlessly without any connection problems. No matter how many times I re-start the stream. So if I go clean out the 2.4.4 files and directory and install 2.4.0 kh8 on the server here, the problem goes away. I then went looking for a 2.4.2...

I do this with the other streaming software without any modifications or adjustments. This should be easy. That sounds like a bad deal, or else my math is wrong. That comes out to 9Mbps per second here. Math: 3000GB * 8 bits/byte divided by 86400 sec/day * 30 days At one time (maybe bandwidth prices have

Listener stats
Hello Jordan Thanks for the reply.  I commented out all the fields in the status-json.xsl but it didn't give me the listener IP.  The example below would show me the source IP.  I can get the IP from the web interface at this location, http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8000/admin/listclients.xsl?mount=/dhantal, but that means I would have to scrape the web interface which I don't want to do.

Number of listeners per server box ?
You should check these guys out, a stream I listen to regularly switched over when live365 went south for a few days. They seem quite reasonable and support Icecast2 already(so they claim anyways). http://www.streamguys.com/ On Sun, Jan 13, 2002 at 04:08:57PM -0700, Jack Moffitt wrote: > > RackSpace wants $7,400/month for 3TB (3,000GB) of monthly traffic. > > That's a major expense for a community radio station. ...; directory listings. Then they started charging for virtually all services. - They were pretty nice, and let their "founding" broadcasters get an almost free ride, but began charging a $5 / month "administration" fee to offset CARP payments to the RIAA. Mediacast1.com and StreamGuys began offering reasonably priced alternate bandwidth during this time and I began losing interest in Live365. Recently they've blocked direct access to the streams - listeners have to "log-in" to hear a stream. I'm not going to talk trash about Live365 - they made it possible...

Looking for some advice to two problems I'm having
Hi guys. I have two questions about my streaming setup and I was wondering if any of you could offer some advice. I'm using IceS 0.4 as my source. It's reading a text file that contains the paths to about 300 different files that I want it to randomly play. For some reason though, it seems to only play a few of those files on a loop. I guess it could be in my head, but it seems like

Using Icecast relay function with dynamic IP at remote source end
Ha! Terms even a broadcaster can understand! Many many thanks. If BUTT is considered to be as good a transporter as Icecast, then I will stick with what I'm doing, if for no other reason than, "Master is the source server (where the source comes from) and Slave is the relay. THe connection is initiated by the slave to the master." Slave may not know where the Master is. Master
