Please Recommend Affordable and Reliable Cloud Storage for 50 TB of Data
.... I couldn?t find a reliable source saying what that limit is, but I found a related limit for G Suite here:
https://support.google.com/a/answer/1071518
If that applies to Google Drive as well, it?ll take about 182 years to send 50 TB.
I can say from personal experience that Google is a bit stingy about such things. They give G Suite basic users 30 GB of storage, but if you try to put tens of GB in it, you can only pull that all down a few times a month before that user?s account gets locked. That happened to us with one user that kept blowing up his laptop, requiring a rebuild, and thus a...

[OT] (slightly) - OpenOffice Calc and text files
...de. The results were goofy, and the problem was in my code that runs before R ever sees the data. That code was confused by things that I would like to ensure don't happen again, and I suspect that some of you might have thoughts on it.
The problems specifically:
(1) OO seems to be a little stingy about producing tab-delimited text; there is stuff online about using the csv and editing the filter and folks (presumably like us) saying that it deserves to be a separate option.
(2) Dates that I had formatted as YYYY got chopped to YY (did we not learn anything last time?<g>) and times th...

Dear useRs,
I'm having trouble building R packages in Windows 7 regarding HTML help
Workshop.
Pointing PATH to c:\Program Files\HTML help Workshop does work in Windows
(e.g. Vista) and does not in Windows 7.
Some tips??
Kind regards,

Spicy stuff on web development
Hi all,
The link contains a stingy article on AJAX and other somewhat browser
dependant stuff.

Being a webdev myself and also a diehard perfectionist, I could relate to some
of it.
Let me state that the article does...

Office XP - possible to install?
Hi all.
I've *never* been able to install Office XP. I've had it running in
CrossOver ( demo ), but my work is too stingy to pay for that, and yet I
still want to install Office. At the moment my VirtualBox installation
is becoming flaky.
I've updated a fresh Ubuntu-8.04 installation to wine-1.0-rc1.
I've then followed the instructions for installing on Gentoo ( install
IE6 via ies4linux, etc, etc ), part-wa...

Ok, I've setup a mailman mailing list. I don't so this often, so I've

has expired... was self signed :-) Now I've apologised for my crapness,
the URL to signup to the mailing list is:

Warning - Naive Question Alert
In my research area, researchers are very stingy about sharing data. In
fact, they are frequently downright secretive about these
morsels. Typically, we get fed a diet of summary statistics and the
assurance that the data are *normal* without any necessary documentation
that they really are.
With that as background and assuming that the da...

Variable substitution - How can I do Dial(${DIALSTRING}) where ${DIALSTRING} is 'SIP/201, 15, tT'?
I've been banging my head against a brick wall for the last hour and I'm
sure this is one of those easy to solve things - just that I can't see the
wood for the trees.
I'm trying to do:
-----------
[some-context]
Exten => s,1,Macro(dodial,'SIP/201,15,tT',123456,MOHClass)
[macro-dodial]
Exten => s,1,SetCallerID(${ARG2})
Exten => s,2,SetMusicOnHold(${ARG3})

Unfortunately, with that philosophy but not much systems management
experience, you end up with custom-compiled and local installs of PHP

Please Recommend Affordable and Reliable Cloud Storage for 50 TB of Data
Hi,
Could you recommend affordable and reliable cloud storage for 50 TB of data?
Here are some important factors to consider:
1. Personal/non-commercial use.
2. Must be affordable, since I am unemployed most of the time and have
super low levels of income for the past 12 years since I graduated
from the National University of Singapore in 2007.
3. Cloud storage provider must not be a

Codifying our Brace rules-
...labels an extra level. But the "always use
braces" rule is preferred by some here, is self-consistent, and is the only
distinction between LLVM's present (inconsistently applied) brace style and
the One True Brace Style[1]. It's mindless to apply and it helps
compensate for our stingy indentation. If the vertical space used by close
braces seems too high a cost, I think that's an indication that there may
be too many levels of nesting or the function is too long or both.

Best Firewall Suggestions?
Hi,
My customer has a outdated firewall that is also presenting a NAT nightmare
for getting the Asterisk server reachable from the internet.
What firewalls work good with VOIP? I really want to steer away from any ALG
supported firewall. I just want a good firewall that works well with
Asterisk.
Thanks,
David Wathen

civil emergency comms: Asterisk + HAM
The disaster in the Gulf coast and the less than optimal initial
response suggests to me that citizens must shoulder more responsibility
for emergency management. Communications loss must have played a large
role in the failures that occurred. I can't help but wonder if there
are fewer ham radio operators today and that if there were more, maybe
they could make a difference in future
