IMAP IDLE goes to sleep
First of all, let me say that I'm really impressed with Dovecot. It is great. Problem description =================== Now I've got a possible bug I'd like to report. I've been learning about the IMAP protocol recently, and have started playing with the IDLE command. The problem is that Dovecot doesn't always notify the client when there is new mail available. While

Unstable NFS mount at heavy load.
I was running benchmark on IO performance using iozone3. In my build, the dom0 resides on a small usb stick and all the storage comes from a NFS mount. I test NFS performance on both dom0 && domU, mounting from the same server. The dom0 test works just well, but the domU run suffers from unstable NFS mount. Since this is a NFS root, the domU just appear to be freezed. The log from both

Asterisk 1.8 Installation Problem
Hi, We want to upgrade both our servers to asterisk 1.8, the one from Romania and the one from Chicago, but for the moment I`m trying to install Asterisk 1.8 on a test machine running CentOS 5.5 with the kernel: Linux asterisk3 2.6.18-194.17.4.el5PAE #1 SMP Mon Oct 25 16:35:27 EDT 2010 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux . I`ve tried many things from the forums and mailing lists but none seemed to help me.

Newbie stuck on facter not finding hostname
Hi all, I''m trying to get puppet working for the first time, and I''ve run into something that''s got me stumped. This is all on Solaris 10/x64. The initial startup of puppetmasterd wasn''t working, and it appeared to be related to the SSL certs not getting generated properly. I managed to trace that down to the fact that facter isn''t finding the

Are you sure this couldn't be an NFS server problem? Any message or errors in 'dmesg'? Any kernel

Data loss bug - sidelined??
In August last year I posted this bug, a brief summary of which would be that ZFS still accepts writes to a faulted pool, causing data loss, and potentially silent data loss: http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6735932 There have been no updates to the bug since September, and nobody seems to be assigned to it. Can somebody let me know what''s happening with this

Running ChildView under Wine 20021031 - Codepage 850?
Hello fellow Wine users: I'm in the process of moving all our desktops over from Windows 98 to Linux (via LTSP), and we've got everything aced except for one &*!^* app. We've run Amicus Attorney underneath wine for some time now, and it works a treat. However, Childview has proved to be... somewhat more reluctant. As far as apps go, it isn't that complicated. It's

2.0.beta4 "OK Still here" not flushed?
Hello, everybody! I've noticed that my installation of K-9 Mail on Android has been consuming a lot of battery power recently. I've been running it connecting to 2.0.beta3 for the past few weeks and just upgraded to 2.0.beta4 while debugging this issue. There is a conspicuous lack of "OK Still here" messages in my IDLE connections. The lack of these "OK Still

SAMBA setting file permissions
I'm pretty sure this is a SAMBA issue. I have a strange problem when changing permissions on a file (ex. index.html) through Windows on a SAMBA share. For example: All user files are accessed through SAMBA Through W2K, I set the permission on my index.html file so that only the user has read/write and nothing for group and Everyone. Now this should break my web page, but to my surprise it

[LLVMdev] phabricator says "this commit is still importing"
I followed a link from LLVM Weekly to http://reviews.llvm.org/rL207598 and got: " Still Importing... This commit is still importing. Changes will be visible once the import finishes. " It was committed a week ago. Is something wrong with Phabricator? Thanks, Jay.

Is ZTDUMMY still required with Asterisk 1.4?
Is ztdummy still required with Asterisk 1.4 when no zaptel cards are available to use for timing? In all the beta releases I used to get a warning when Asterisk started up, saying that no timing device was found. The warning seems to have gone away with the full release of 1.4, which prompts the question... Is it still required? Does 1.4 do something different for timing? Regards, David

nouveau driver one centos 6
I "wish" to not load the or even install the nouveau driver by default. I want to use the NVIDIA binary driver. I have tried a number of things: 1) in my kickstart package section add the line: -xorg-x11-drv-nouveau This did not work - it was still installed. 2) use the nvidia installer and it asks to create a modprobe.conf file to blacklist the driver. I said yes thats what I want.

R crashing during batch file formatting
Hi R users: I have the British Household Panel Survey (BHPS) in .tab format. I want to feed it through the Amelia package (which will be an ‘interesting’ job in itself).. But first I need to convert the various types of missing value (from about -9 to -1) to a more generic ‘NA’ code. I’ve written the following function to do this: BHPS.converter <-

still problems with password-expiration
Hi folks, I knew this was recently discussed but I still couldn't get it to work. I still have the problem that the users on the W2K-Clients get the message about the password going to expire in 5 days when joining the Samba-PDC-Domain. Even if the users change the password, this message keeps coming... I have no idea what to do to avoid this message... Funny thing is, the password DOES NOT

how many people still use NIS?
Hello listmates, I have discovered a very strange SFTP problem which I can not connect to anything but NIS thus far. See here: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-server-73/sftp-seems-to-fail-for-nis-accounts-under-openssh-5-x-816020/ http://readlist.com/lists/suse.com/suse-linux-e/38/193419.html Hence the question: is NIS (YP) still in use much anywhere for authentication? Thanks.
