Hello everyone, here is some php code.
...on
and code. I hope the best of all y'all this holiday season. Now, I am carefully going to make sure to attach my code with Mutt, and go to bed.
P.s. If my code sucks, if you have written better code, if you have questions on
the code, or have any other feedback, I would love it hear it.

could not start logging
Hello!
Whenever I get that error, its due to either the directory/file not existing,
or having the wrong file permissions. Remember, it needs the file permissions
of the user you created to be "icecast".
Happy holidays all

skills are sub par, and I was wondering if there is another solution, so I
can create a more customized icecast2 stats page.
Btw, everyone thank you for all the great work. And good job on the beta.

One more question of possible note.
...st questions "only playing stream" idea?
*I have some horribly kludgy ideas on how to do such things with kill -hups
and crontab and "does this .m3u file exist" conditionals, but I'm hoping I am
missing something in the .xml config itself.*
Keep up the good work gentlemen.

icecast hangs at start
thanks for the reply.
the problem is after i start icecast with icecast -c
/path to icecast.xml, i see the following:
Changed groupid to 501.
Changed userid to 501.
and then it just hangs. i do not get a command prompt
or anything. so i was wondering if there are any
other messages that normally follow during the startup
process.

I would try and port and rewrite, but my coding skills need refresh...
Honestly, if someone pointed out what code I had to rewrite and give me
some hints on WHAT to change exactly...I would do so.
Thanks for all the work guys.

Stream metadata settings
...e Icecast should be made so highly configurable that it
would fit everyone's needs, but I get the impression that only the needs of
the principal developers are of interest here. It makes me sad to see this,
Icecast could be great instead of just being good.

make problems on libshout CVS.
Hello, I am having problems compiling libshout out of the CVS. *Grabbed it
ten minutes ago*.
When I run ./autogen.sh, the very last line says:
config.status: error: cannot find input file: src/net/Makefile.in
and when I try to run a make, I get:
--things that seem okay--
Making all in src
make[2]: Entering directory '/root/icecast2stuff/libshout/src'
makefile:213: .deps/mp3.Plo: no such

A question on clients.
...ast2 program that does this?
Thanks everyone. I want to thank you for the project as a whole, and the real
reason I want to switch over to ogg is to run everything open source from where
I am at. I feel funny using mp3 with all the current and past "issues" with
licensing and such.

A quesetion regarding ices2.
...ber liveice and that neat little ### composed volume level that it
showed when you were broadcasting? What header or library do I need to read from to do the same thing?
Again, I am grateful for all the work everyone puts into the xiph projects,
and I hope everyone who is involved realizes that.

I guess it would depend on how it was implemented...to me it doesn't seem
useful for 99% of the icecast users out there (I could be wrong), I

more on default values....
While we are talking default values for options and features in the config
file, It seems like an appropriate time to bring up again, a discussion we
have been having regarding the default value for burst-on-connect, a new
feature of icecast which was created to eliminate the large startup times
reported by many listeners of icecast streams.
The question is whether to enable this by default

automating icecast2 startups
I have icecast2 running on several machines now and have gotten relaying
to work just fine. I've posted my instructions on how to do this to my
icecast docs site.
I have just a few more questions. Perhaps some one on this list has
already addressed these issues but has simply not posted these
elsewhere.
1) I'm looking for a startup script for launching the icecast2 icecast
ices binaries
