Thus you got an extremely outdated version of that package. Try to download again from a recent mirror. Uwe Ligges &g...

Copyright on src/nmath/qnorm.c
...src/nmath/qnorm.c it is stated: * Copyright (C) 1998 Ross Ihaka * Copyright (C) 2000--2005 The R Development Core Team * based on AS 111 (C) 1977 Royal Statistical Society * and on AS 241 (C) 1988 Royal Statistical Society The routine is in fact an f2c'd version of AS241 from StatLib: http://lib.stat.cmu.edu/apstat/241 and http://lib.stat.cmu.edu/apstat/ It seems odd to me that this is re-licensed under GPL and copyright asserted to be held by R Development Core Team. I expect that if I looked further I could find plenty of other routines with a similar heritage. The StatL...

R-beta: Fig driver for "R"?
Hello all R users and developers! In the "Notes on R" I have found the following information: (page 60, 13-th footnote) "... a better solution is to use the fig() driver (available from statlib) and use a conversion program, such as fig2dev, to convert the resultant fig code to Encapsulated Podtscript." I was very glad to read it, because I'm often forced to use specifically Polish characters (like L-stroke, a-ogonek etc.) in my drawings' legend, and passing the texts through...

R-beta: R on Windows 3.1
My attempt to get R running in Windows 3.11 didn't go very far. I have read the FAQ and install.tex carefully. What am I missing? Here is the step: 1. From statlib I got rexe.zip (and rbeta.zip, but this one seems for windows 95 only?). 2. On unzipping I got 8 files, including rb1.exe, and a sub- dir win32s, which I copied to windows/system. (There is no setup.exe, which the install program refers to). 3. rb1.exe does not ru...

R-beta: CRAN goes HTML

AS Algorithms
Dear R-programmers, I would like to use one of the AS Algorithms that used to be published in the journal Applied Statistics of the Royal Statistical Society (Series C). Mistake in qbeta.c ? (PR#941)
...Debian/Linux Submission from: (NULL) (131.111.8.68) In 1.2.2 sources (also in 0.90.1. I haven't been able to check other versions) Line 103 in qbeta.c should read: w = y * sqrt(h + r) / h - (t - s) * (r + 5. / 6. - 2 / (3 * h)); since otherwise the 5 / 6 will evaluate to zero (I think). The Statlib fortran code uses five / six instead. Cheers, thanks for great software. requirements for a GPL
Can I get some advice on what is required to claim a GPL for a package? A package I maintain (pcurve) uses some S code from statlib.
