[LLVMdev] Re moving the instrumented instructions at runtime

At the beginning of what? You mean at the time of program starup? Then
after detecting/collecting whatever you want, you would like to remove
those instrumented instructions?
I think you insert those instrumented instructions in LLVM IR, then
leave LLVM to generate the host binary, right? If so, I think it's hard
to remove those instrumented instructions....

[LLVMdev] Re moving the instrumented instructions at runtime
Hello,
I have some questions about removing the instrumented instructions at
runtime.
Assume I instrument some instructions by using some transformation passes.
At runtime, I just need those instrumented instructions at the beginning,
and I would like to remove instrumented instructions at runtime to reduce
overhead.
Does anyone know how to do this by using LLVM?
Thanks,
Bo

smb, vmware trouble?
Dear all
We are using a definition of rules which has perfectly worked with SuSE8.2 and
vmware and a local samba on some clients.
The systems got an update to 9.2.
Now we got a very strange problem which probably could belong to an firewall
definition problem.
After booting of the system the samba connection to vmware works perfect but a
few hours later it isn''t possible to copy a

Problems recovering data from broken disk
Hi,
maybe someone could help me out here:
I have a broken disk with serveral partitions (1-3 primary, 4
extended and 5-6 logical). I am able to get access to the primary
partions and already recovered the data.
I can see all partitions using fdisk -l /dev/hdc.
But I cannot mount the logical ones:
mount -t ext3 /dev/hdc5 /mnt
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on

Windows XP Home accessing a Samba PDC
A friend of mine has asked me a question in my role as "biggest local
geek" (for very small values of "local"). Googling hasn't turned up an
answer, so does anyone here know if this is possible?
At his business, they had a mixture of XP Home, XP Pro and Win98
machines accessing a Samba server with security=user. The server has
one big everyone-read-write drive and a few

I am having the same problem as well. This is just an educated guess, but I
think the problem has to do with the "in-memory krb5 keytab support" Anyone
have any workarounds?

[PATCH 00/10] paravirt/subarchitecture boot protocol
...paging enabled, and so need
to know what initial mappings to create.
- Modify the kernel boot sequence to:
1. avoid reloading the segment state (gdt and segment registers) if the
bootloader asks it to
2. jump to a subarchitecture-specific entrypoint in kernel/head.S.
- Add Xen-specific starup code, which mainly remaps the kernel from
its P=V identity mapping to the normal PAGE_OFFSET mapping.
One open issue is that I haven't made the normal head.S initial
pagetable construction code generally reusable. The default
boot-on-normal x86 hardware still uses it of course, but ot...
