best practice for managing multiple stanzas within a config file?
What is the best way to manage multiple stanza within a config file?
For a splunk configuration file (inputs.conf) I need to manage some thing
like
[monitor://var/log]
blacklist = someRegularExpression
whitelist = someOtherRegularExpression
[monitor://var/lib/ourApp]
There can be multiple monitor stanzas and each may or may not have a

Can't reliably use RefClass methods in Snowfall
Greetings,
I am trying to use Reference Class methods in Snowfall, using R 2.12.1
on Ubuntu Natty. Using then directly seems to work (stanza 2 below),
but using them indirectly does not (stanza 3 below). I get an "attempt
to apply non-function" error.
In addition to exporting the instance of the object I created to the
Snowfall slaves, I also made several attempts to export the method
itself (e.g. sfExport("instance...

garbage on serial console after pxelinux.0 is loaded
...I use these to PXE boot, everything works fine. However, these systems will eventually become headless and in the production process access to the console will be via serial port. Using the serial port mostly works in that once we get to the PXE boot: prompt we can type in the name of the desired stanza from default and the kernel and initramfs specified will be loaded & executed. But when the system initially reaches that boot: prompt, something starts spitting small strings of garbage, say 20-40 characters, in random places on the screen, about once per second or every other second. The st...

Transitioning from multi-boot to Xen
...an squeeze in /dev/sda7 and
downloaded the Xen kernel and other packages per the debian wiki.
Now, I am a confused as to what to do next.
The laptop currently boots off of the default grub2 bootloader installed
in the /dev/sda5 ubuntu 10.10 partition. I understand I need to manually
add a ‘Xen’ stanza pointing to /dev/sda7 and the Xen kernel to for
instance /etc/grub.d/40_custom - and run ‘update-grub’ so that I end up
with the corresponding entry in /boot/grub/grub.cfg, but I can''t seem to
find any sample or description of how I should code this additional
stanza.
By fiddling with gru...

Matching username in ssh_config
Hi all openssh devs out there.
I have quite a few Host-stanzas in my .ssh/config to keep track of all the
different settings and credentials needed to access all different hosts I
connect to.
Now I have ran in to a problem where I need to switch settings based on what
user I'm trying to login to a host as. A simple case is:
ssh -i rootkey root at host12...

Pre-routing manipulation of calls
...ing calls are placed into
the "incoming" context (by zapata.conf) and are routed based on the
dialed number.
I want to do some manipulation (CallerID name override) to all incoming
calls before they are routed. I would prefer to avoid duplicating the
necessary code in each DID extension stanza, even if it's just a call to
a macro.
1. Can I set up a catch-all extension in "incoming", do my processing,
and then have the calls "fall through" to the existing extension stanzas?
2. Or, should I use a separate "pre-incoming" context to do the
manipulation and...

can a sip.conf stanza be shared by several phones?
Hi,
If several phones register to the same sip.conf section what will happen
with a "Dial SIP/shared" in asterisk?
All phones ringing and the first one to answer gets the call?
Undefined behavior?
Thanks,

OT: bareos
...dows.
However, when I try to run a restore for a Windows box, in bconsole, I
say restore, then from most recent, then the client, and I want to
select files. It builds its directory tree (it says), then tells me
it's at c:/ (*Nix, not Win backslash)... and there's nothing there.
The fileset stanza says to back up
File = "c:/Users"
Am I doing something wrong? Do I need a separate template stanza just
for Windows?

problems with memory allocation
I hope that someone has had a similar trouble and will be able to
help us :
We , have installed the R package in a Digital Workstation with 500Mb
of
RAM memory, running under Unix operating system. The package works fine
but when we try to start the program with more than 120Mb, (vsize
- --120M) the
workstation refuses to allocate this memory. The message that we get
is:

File into database migration
Hi,
I am trying to figure out an approach to load in our initial data into our
database.
I have written some load_data migrations which populate a lot of the stuff,
how some of the database
items are images etc and I am trying to figure out how to approach added
them to the database
during a rake db:migrate
I am thinking if I store the files in a folder off the RAILS_ROOT I should
be able to

FYI: C 7, broken cron, sort of SOLVED
...-enablesssd --enablesssdauth --enablesmartcard
--smartcardmodule=sssd --smartcardaction=0 --updateall
breaks crond, as per bugzilla # Bug 1650314. The way that it breaks it is
to insert into /etc/pam.d/password-auth-ac two lines reading
auth required pam_deny.so
one as the third line in the auth stanza, so:
auth required pam_env.so
auth required pam_faildelay.so delay=2000000
auth required pam_deny.so
auth [default=1 ignore=ignore success=ok] pam_succeed_if.so uid >=
1000 quiet

TLS and NAT
I want to configure communication with my phone provider using TLS for
all the obvious reasons. Since I'm behind a firewall, I'll be needing to
do it with NAT. There are examples of UDP plus NAT in pjsip.conf, but
none for TLS plus NAT. Would it be correct to set up the TLS transport
stanza to look like the [transport-udp-nat] stanza example, replacing
UDP with TLS in lines like 'transport=tls' and 'protocol=tls', and
including the lines for local_net, external_media_address and
external_signaling_address?
