I did some more experiments and also saw the problems.
They occur when using a 0.9.6-beta client to connect to 0.9.5a and 0.9.6-beta
servers.
They also occur when using a 0.9.5a client connecting to a 0.9.6-beta
server.

[Bug 10381] New: --acls and --xattrs clash with --delete-missing-args
...clash with --delete-missing-args
Product: rsync
Version: 3.1.0
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P5
Component: core
AssignedTo: wayned at samba.org
ReportedBy: blgl at stacken.kth.se
QAContact: rsync-qa at samba.org
When missing files are to be passed through to the receiver, the sender
tries to get the ACL and xattrs even for a missing file. This obviously
fails, the file is skipped, and the deletion doesn't happen.
The attached patch fixes the problem...

Kerberos/AFS options in ssh/sshd while disabling them in configure
Dear OpenSSH developers,
Hello, I strongly support this suggestion ie. adding the sentence "This
option has been disabled at compile time" as appropriate. It would be even
more helpful if you said how to enable it (krb) at compile time. Remember,
this is the only documentation available.
I spent some time wondering about this before searching the archives.
Ok, while we are on the

An openssl shared library versioning problem (fwd)
Hi,
Below a message I had originally sent to openssl-bugs.
The version mismatch mentioned below was
OpenSSL 0x0090603f vs. OpenSSL 0x0090601f
Meanwhile Richard Levitte <levitte at stacken.kth.se> has sent me the
following:

Using kerberized SSHD. Question.
I have a kerberized SSHD installed on HOST-1, a login server for the
outside world.
How can I make it so users are still authenticated via kerberos, even
though they haven't yet received a ticket?
The main reason for this is that a user who is at home, no vpn, but has
an ssh client could then login and be authenticated by kerberos using
password authentication, get a ticket, then be allowed

Using Kerberos5 in 3.3p1
Hello all,
I'm not able to get Kerberos5 authenticarion work together with PrivSep.
According to strace, it seems that the kerberos authentication stage is
performed by the user process in chrooted enviroment. The problem is that
Kerberos authentication must be done by root. Is anybody working on a fix?
(or am I missing something in configuration?)
Thanks for any advice.

Solaris 9 (sparc), Heimdal kerberos and Samba 3.0.9
Hello,
I've been having some problems with compiling samba 3.0 with kerberos
support using the heimdal libraries. My problems are the same as those
detailed in these two archive posts (one from here, one from elsewhere)
http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2004-March/082135.html
http://www.stacken.kth.se/lists/heimdal-discuss/2004-11/msg00001.html
Quick summary: Samba attempts to use both the Heimdal gssapi.h and the
Solaris native one, resulting in all sorts of conflicts...
It doesn't look like this problem has been adequately fixed yet.
I've done some digging and found that t...

Automatic time zone conversion
Dear R-help,
I was trying to convert a date and time record extracted from a fortran
subroutine I worte and I encounter some problem. The data read in time
and date in a format like "2000-05-11_01:00:00.0000" in fortran output.
It is in GMT. I need to convert it to CST (GMT+8). I did the following
steps.

Kerberos in OpenSsh 2.9.9p2
I note with interest that Kerberos support is now available (for the version
1 protocol, at least) in OpenSSH 2.9.9p2. However, it does not build with MIT
Kerberos, due to the usual Heimdal/MIT library differences. These look, by
and large, like the same problems I encountered when porting Dan Kouril's
patch to MIT Kerberos - so I'm having a go at fixing them (my GSSAPI patches
