Trying to upgrade from R 2.7.1
[Running debian stable] I followed the instructions at http://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/debian, adding deb http://cran.R-project.org/bin/linux/debian lenny-cran/ to /etc/apt/sources.list. But apt-get still leaves me with R 2.7.1. How can I diagnose what's wrong or correct this? euclid: /etc/apt # apt-get update Hit http://debian.yorku.ca stable Release.gpg Ign http://debian.yorku.ca

Is everything settling down now? Rick P.S. If anyone has any tricks for these Compuke proliant 5000 machines please contact me : )

Tracking 4-stable rather than 4.8-stable
Hi, I would like to follow 4-stable on my FreeBSD box, and i can't fetch binaries from /stand/sysinstall. Can anyone help me? Here is how i did: 1) I installed 4.8-RELEASE from CD, 2) I used cvsup to upgrade. For this i used the stable-supfile as shown in the Handbook. => My OS version as shown by 'uname -a' and '/stand/sysinstall' is "4.8-STABLE". It

Installing FreeBSD-Stable and Upgrading to FreeBSD-Stable
I am a newbie trying to get the most current Stable version of FreeBSD running. I have been using CVS to update my system, but things don't work after an update. For example KDE 3.1 (from KDE 3.0) doesn't start using startkde. I am looking for instructions on the best way to Install the lastest version of FreeBSD-Stable and how to Upgrade the system in the future. Thanks.

After an update stable doesn't boot
Hi I just did a system update and after I've rebooted it doesn't boot up any more. All I'm getting is a blank screen with a curser blinking at the top left corner of the screen. This system was running 7.0-STABLE Any ideas as to how I can get it back up? Regards Reinhold

[PATCH] block: virtio_blk: don't hold spin lock during world switch

[LLVMdev] LLVM 3.4 stable releases
Hi, I would like to try again to do stable releases for LLVM 3.4. Even though we were unsuccessful with stable releases for LLVM 3.3, I learned some things going through the process, which I think will increase the chance for success with LLVM 3.4. So, here is my TODO list for a successful 3.4.1 release: 1. Get volunteers to help This is probably the most important thing on this list. Stable

apt-get update: GPG error from cran.R-project.org
I recently was forced to do a dist-upgrade and rebuild my kernel, so a lot has changed on my system, and I don't know if that is related to the errors & warnings I get from apt-get update. Another minor IMAP LIST issue
I've just noticed that Dovecot 1.0-stable and 1.0-test78 don't include mbox folders with names beginning with "." in the IMAP LIST output. These are often used to store "hidden" folders for storing things like IMAP client configuration (e.g. Pine 4.x, IMHO, Prayer). Usually the user shouldn't be able to see these, but there are occassions when they might. It seems

[LLVMdev] RFC: Bug fix releases for 3.3 and beyond
Hi, I would really like to see the LLVM project start to make official bug fix releases (e.g. 3.3.1, 3.3.2, etc.). I think that this would be useful for a lot of the users of LLVM, especially projects that use LLVM as a library. I am willing to help maintain bug fix releases, and I'm wondering if this is something that the LLVM project would officially support with a stable SVN branch and by

hme0 interface going up/down (dhclient ?)
Hi all, I am having an issue where my hme0 interface is always turning up and down with dhclient requesting a lease. I am thinking this could be the same issue described by Jeremy Chadwick on June 9th: http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-stable/2013-June/073711.html Everything was fine on 8.2-STABLE and older versions. It was then upgraded directly to 9.0-STABLE

2.2.x autobuilds: Debian Stable now Wheezy, which pool for 2.2.x?
List, good evening, just installed a new Debian Stable (Wheezy). The Debian Stable repositories now include Dovecot 2.1.7 as standard. I haven't installed that because I wanted to try 2.2.x on this new clean install but unsure which 'pool' to use in the xi.rename-it.nl repository of autobuilds. http://xi.rename-it.nl/debian/pool/ Wheezy became Stable on May 5, just a few days

Going from -STABLE to -RELEASE with freebsd-update support?
I have an old server box that I've traditionally updated from source. I'd like to switch over to -RELEASE and use freebsd-update in the future. What's the easiest way to achieve that? Will just untarring the relevantrelease distro files work? -- Regards, Mike
