"rsync: not found" error with sshwindows
I'm trying to copy files from a Linux system to a Windows XP system running sshwindows. I can use gFTP and log in just fine. sshwindows is based on cygwin so you just use /cygdrive/c/ to access the Windows C: drive, etc. But for some reason, rsync is having problems transferring files to this system: [1710][~]$ rsync -av /tmp/foo.txt user@windowsbox.com:/cygdrive/c/ user@window...

Building NT installer. Need Advice RE: File Structure.
...t seems Cygwin bombed the OpenSSH directory with a ton of erroneous files. The installer is so far perfect and I am seeking advice. Which of the following files from the following structure are totally unnecessary? I wish to know so I can clean up the build. Some references are made to "SSHWindows 3.8.1p1" which was used *ONLY* as a reference tool. Thank you! PS. Following is a quick legend. Feel free to modify this list in any way as long as it makes sense in the end. Thanks again! >> These files are in question. Are these files necessary in any way on NT? ?? The...

Building Stand-Alone NT Installer. Need Advice on File Structure. Thank you!
...;s should truly stand-alone (dependent on nothing outside the enclosed tree). Once this project is finished I plan on submitting a link to the final version here for peer review. I am using the following software on XP to help with the project. > OpenSSH-4.1p1-1 > Cygwin 2.457.2.2 > SSHWindows 3.8.1p1 > Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service Pack 2 This message is aimed at one purpose. To seek advice on the correct file structure for OpenSSH. To get to the point is simple. It seems Cygwin 2.457.2.2 bombed the OpenSSH build with a whole bunch of erroneous files (I may be wrong). I wish...

Giving folks access to Win2k
Hi all, As fate would have it I''m giving away my old desktop to a friend who has no computer. The upside is that means I have room to setup my old-old desktop, which happens to have Windows 2000 on it. It''s a dual Pentium-II 400 with 512mb of RAM. I installed the Ruby 1.8.6 one-click on it, and it already had VC++ 6 on it. Fairly zippy, actually. What I would like to do is

SerNet - Samba 4.3 and ssh password logins
Hi everyone, I have a SerNet-Samba 4.3.6-10 AD which works fine. Now I try to implement a fileserver. It is a server with a lot of (old)-users, which have an Unix-Account. On this server are also users who should can login from the Internet over ssh. But now I'm running in trouble with the security of my fileserver. When I would install samba 4.3.6 on it and activate sernet-samba-client

3.7.1p1 and PAM
Hi, I've spent a lot of time digging the last couple days and seen some talk about how now with 3.7.1p1 the PAM challenge response requiring keyboard interactive on the client is "right" and no longer a kludge. I understand that. Unfortunately I've got a bunch of users who's client (www.ssh.com's client version 3.2.3) doesn't function without a kludged server.

Samba Questions
Hello, I have couple questions regarding Samba. 1. In the smb.conf, what does "security = DOMAIN" mean? 2. I would like to samba into the firewall so that people can't connect through TCP/IP. What port (tcp or udp) does samba use? 3. How can I prompt user for entering login name instead of using Win95 login name for Win95 users? That's all for now. Thanks for your help.
