you should be able to config your web server to compress them automatically for browsers that accept gzip (which is most browsers these days).

Yahoo! User Interface Libraries
Yahoo! recently unveiled their UI Libraries which appear to provide a
lot of the functionality that script.aculo.us and prototype does.
I''ve tried some of the demos and the effects run quite smooth/fast.
Could be an opportunity for us to adapt some ideas/approaches to
improve.

Why Struts2 use dojo instead of Scriptaculous?
...iptaculous, and others that use Prototype). In
a portal environment though, the rules of the game are quite different,
and Prototype can lead to issues because of these two points.
------------------------
I don''t know what I must answer to Struts forum to use scriptaculous.
I find that sriptaculous have a lot of effects (drag/drop) and widget (like
tafeltree) more pleasant than dojo.
But if there is not solutions with portlet environnment, I should use dojo,
and I find it''s shame.
Thank you for your answer.

having two problems...
I have a draggable element with revert:false-property and two
dropzones. (The draggables are in a <td> and the dropzones are
<div>s if that is important.)
1. I want the draggable element to snap back to its original position
when it gets dropped anywhere out of a dropzone.
2.
