Help! - Unintelligible prompts and music
I have set up a couple of test Asterisk servers and have never had a problem with sound. I've just done a fresh install on a dual 1GHZ PIII Asus box running Fedora Core3 with the Digium PCI Dev kit and following all the various Core 3 How-To's. I can make calls ok but when any sound is sent from the Asterisk box such as voice prompts and music on hold the sound is completely chopped up in

openssh and keystroke timing attacks (again)
Hi all, Over the past 10 years, there has been some discussion and several patches concerning keystroke timing being revealed by the timing of openssh packet network transmission. The issue is that keystroke timing is correlated with the plaintext, and openssh users expect their communications to be kept entirely secret. Despite some excellent ideas and patches, such as Jason Coit's

automount complaints
Folks, I've been getting complaints in our logfiles, such as May 12 10:07:07 <servername> automount[3415]: update_negative_cache: key ".git" not found in map. a) Is there a FAQ on automount that might cover some of this? Googling hasn't found one for me? b) Any clues as to what might be causing this? I see a lot of it, in spurts. mark

failed to find NT AUTHORITY domain log message during backup windows
Greetings! I'm running domain member fileservers on Samba 4.3.6.. During my backup window (backups are performed via Bacula, running on the fileserver) I tend to receive spurts of the following log message: Apr 10 16:55:18 smbfs1 winbindd[2376]: [2016/04/10 16:55:18.111192, 0] ../source3/winbindd/winbindd_group.c:45(fill_grent) Apr 10 16:55:18 smbfs1 winbindd[2376]: Failed to find domain

Domain logons w/ LDAP backend
Hi, I have multiple Samba servers working very well using the tdbsam backend. The number of servers is becoming harder to manage now so I began testing an LDAP-based Samba server. Everything works great except when a workstation tries to login to the domain... All users are able to login just fine when accessing network shares. Workstation are able to join the domain. But upon reboot,

IAX problem through intermediate asterisk box
I'm having a problem with IAX running through an intermediate asterisk box. Perhaps a small diagram will explain the situation better: *A ------- [cloud (public internet)] ------- *B --------[cloud (private network)]----------- *C Asterisk server's A, B, and C, are all connected together with IAX All asterisk servers are 1.6.0.6 Server A and B are geographically close, but connected over

Odd Samba 4 ("4.2.0pre1-GIT-b505111"; actually only using client) behaviour #2 - "accept: Software caused connection abort".
Good day oh technical ones . I was running Samba 4 (client only, not using it as a DC so effectively running Samba 3 code from the Samba 4 tree) and, other than a little "Gotcha!" regarding decoding Kerberos PACs, it was all working perfectly. Then recently I had to upgrade, to "4.2.0pre1-GIT-b505111" (I had to upgrade the OS on the server

failed to find NT AUTHORITY domain log message during backup windows
It sounds as though there are files on your servers owned by a UID or GID (most probably a GID) that is not in /etc/group, and is being looked up and "reverse resolved" to 'NT AUTHORITY\Authenticated Users', but this somehow doesn't map back the other way, i.e. from a name to a GID. Can you narrow it down and perhaps use the 'find' command to see what UID/GID this

Stuttering stream
Hi Jack, interesting that you should mention NTP. With the problem that I am having, I am getting actual libshout errors. I have run all my mp3s through mp3check and my disk subsystem is 7200 RPM SCSI. Why would NTP cause issues? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jack Moffitt" <jack@xiph.org> To: <icecast@xiph.org> Sent: Wednesday, February 06, 2002 1:48 PM Subject: Re:

One-way audio after several minutes 1.4.0
Three sites are experiencing ~10sec period of one-way audio. This happens several minutes into the call, and it is very intermittent (infrequent). It does not happen on inter-office calls but only on calls to/from the PSTN. Occasionally, a spurt of white noise precedes the drop-out much like a cell phone drop-out. One site uses one port of a Sangoma A102X (PCI-X). Another site uses a

How to convert multichannel to mono/stereo?
Sorry for the questions out of the mail list's subject. 1) Could you help me with getting information on how can I convert multichannecl (e.g. 5.1) non-encoded (PCM) data into mono\stereo? I suppose this performed in the manner like: Left = x1*(Front Left)+x2*(Back Left).... But is there exist commonly used standards to perform this task? 2) It seems FLAC pjoject have been frozen for some

Samba + Bonding = Terrible Performance
Hello, Please CC replies I'm not subscribed. Performance with samba and only samba degrades terribly when we use the bonding driver to aggregate two ethernet cards. Instead of a steady file copy it seems to go in spurts. If I pull out one of the network cables (doesn't matter which) performance resumes to full speed. I can pull the cable in the middle of a transfer and it will go

Improve application database
Hi, I see a lot of programs tested in the database without any reference how it was installed. One has to reinvent the wheel once again. Also the line between a bug and a wrong install is a fine one, it would clear up some test data as-well So why not force a howto in the database, same like is being done with what works & what doesn't work -- View this message in context:
