[cfe-dev] RFC: Implementing -fno-delete-null-pointer-checks in clang
...pointer-checks: "Assume that programs cannot safely > dereference null pointers, and that no code or data element resides at > address zero." (-fno-delete-null-pointer-checks is the opposite.) Ah, now that's quite a bit more palatable. I really should have read the docs before spouting "my favourite rant #1". Then my main concern is that we end up with a sufficiently clear (and documented) definition that we're not promising more than we intend. I get very grumpy if I can't tell someone with UB that they're Doing It Wrong. Of the two options, I still think...

The Talking Moose
Anyone here remember the old Talking Moose desktop toy from the 80's? For the unitiated, the Talking Moose was a simple applet on old Mac computers that periodically displayed an animated Bullwinkle-lookalike moose in the corner of the screen, spouting witty phrases or biting insults, as well as commenting on various activities like opening and closing programs or inserting disks. (The moose's behavior was highly customizable.) He's not for everybody, but I miss the guy. Lo and behold, the project was resurrected for the modern Windows e...

[cfe-dev] RFC: Implementing -fno-delete-null-pointer-checks in clang
I'm working with an embedded architecture that could, in some situations, run faster if code or data could be located at address zero. I don't know whether this applies to other embedded chips. Despite the name, the flag actually has rather straightforward semantics > from the compiler's perspective. From the gcc docs for > -fdelete-null-pointer-checks: "Assume that

Can Winbind allocate gids?" After lots of googling, I finally got the process to start properly, and (from the limited testing I can do on Saturdays) Windows clients can...

MSFlexGrid control(msflxgrd.ocx) always gives a maybe outdated error
...e Windows version in the wine config to all different versions but that did not help. My latest attempt I copied the MSFLXGRD.OCX (version 6.0.84.18) from a win2k system to the wine system directory for the test. One day I hope to find a fix for this problem so I can dance around my work area spouting stuff like... "No more windows for me!!" to all my co-workers :). Any information that might help would be appreciated.
