streaming ogg player embedded in web page
Hi List, For the last week I have been have playing with icecast 2.0.0 and ices for a streaming project I am working. The streaming is working with multiple sources and fallback using XMMS and Winamp as the clients. All work splendidly. Next on my todo list is find a simple Ogg player that I can embed in a webpage and play from the icecast stream. I have so far looked at jlGui Applet 2.2 which plays the ogg streams, but fails when the mount point changes , ie when switching to fallback, or moving clients from one mount point to...

Pretty HTML reporting for stories
Hi all, I''m just getting to grips with rspec, and I''m trying to put together a showy demo. We''re trying to use the (plain text) stories feature, rather than the specs. I''d like to show off a fancy HTML report of the results if possible. So it seems I can do this from the spec command line tool, but I can''t make it work for a story. I''ve got

Te project ships with own repository containing many useful desktop and system applications also other third-party software repositories enabled by default, including RPMFusion and Fedora's EPEL repository. OT: Pie charts
We regularly get questions about making pie charts, and frequently veer off into the philosophical and practical issues surrounding that form of data graphic: human perception of angles and so on. So while this isn't an R issue, I thought some of you might appreciate this brief discussion of the efficacy of pie charts: http://fakescience.tumblr.com/post/6042293374/understanding-pie-charts

Loud pop at the end of messages causing level problems
Hi everyone, I've set up a little Asterisk system with a Digium TDM400P and everything works splendidly except for the messages callers leave. Every message that a caller leaves is very faint. I've already set volgain=6.0 in voicemail.conf, and that seems better, but to be at a good volume I estimate I may need to go up to 40.0. Is that reasonable? One interesting artifact is that at the end...

Mapping Attributes While Using Winbind?
I'm working on testing out using winbind in our environment for user info and authentication. Our 2K8 R2 AD DS set up has all of the rfc2307 attributes populated for objects that need to appear on the Unix machines and everything is working splendidly. One thing I'd like to know is, we have some instances where users' AD accounts are not the same as their unix id's (matching them up at this point is not an option). Is there a way to tell winbind to look at the uid attribute in AD rather than the sAMAccountName for a Unix user name?...

Replacing Samba with a new one
Dear all, I currently have an old machine running SuSE 8.1 and Samba (as installed out of the box) setup and working as a windows domain for a set of WinXP SP2 machines. Everything is working just splendid except that I am Running out of space on it because it has a 40GB drive. Recently I have been instructed to switch the machine's hard-disk with a brand new one which will be ofcourse

Hi , I ve tested the pclinux minime on usb 1Gb and later 8Gb, with fat32 and syslinux boot , works splendid in Ram , and persistant saves on stick.. Now i want to try extlinux-boot with ext2 or 3 on the usb. Batch-Tagging oggs?
Hello all. Quick question ('Cause I'm famished and have to get something to eat) If I have a batch of files (wave and/or ogg) with a certain naming scheme. Would it be possible for me to write a small nifty (newbie) dos-batch program that could tag those ogg-files (or encode the waves with tags) with regards to the namin parameters. Let me clarify. I usually encode waves with the

Ported openssh-2.9p2 to LynxOS
Hi, I have ported the portable version of openssh (openssh-2.9p2) to LynxOS. I have had to install Perl5 and openssl-0.9.5a. Also since the regex library in LynxOS is not POSIX compliant I had to use PCRE. Then I configured openssh-2.9p2 with the library option -lbsd. One more problem was the macro "howmany(x,y)" is not defined in any of the /usr/include header files n LynxOS. So I

Kerberos for authentication?
Greetings! Are there any plans of using Kerberos for authentication in addition to (or in place of) SSL certificates in Puppet? Kerberos provides mutual, cryptographically strong authentication. A number of different services are Kerberos-enabled (SSH, NFSv4 and HTTP are common examples), and thus use the same authentication mechanism system-wide. At our site, almost all services and users are

[LLVMdev] APFloat renaming isNormal => isFiniteNonZero and isIEEENormal => isNormal
I think it’s a splendid idea (but you already knew that). Serial console with pxelinux on Soekris net4501
Hello, I have a Soekris net4501, which I'm PXE booting using pxelinux. Everything seems to be working splendidly, except for the fact that I can't seem to make pxelinux understand use the net4501's serial console port correctly. The net4501 uses the serial console as its primary interface; I'm using a null modem cable and minicom to operate with it. At boot, its startup messages go out over th...

Phone meeting about kernel virtualization hooks
I would like to host a phone meeting to discuss the plans for the xen sub-architecture of x86. Hopefully Chris can share his vision and we can agree on some next steps to getting this done and into the mainline kernel. From my understanding, it would be good if the "To" list could make it. If anyone believes others should attend, please let them know. Please let me know if you are
