History of FLAC Frontend?
Hi all, Lots of bugs and support requests in the sourceforge tracker are related to the FLAC frontend, which is bundled with FLAC for Windows with the installer. However, I couldn't find it in git. I really thought the FLAC frontend was part of the project, but it seems it is some piece of freeware last updated 10 years ago: http://members.home.nl/w.speek/index.htm Is this true? Anyone

ntlm_auth from pppd help
Hello all, I am working on a VPN solution using FC3-2.6.12-1.1381 - openswan 2.4.4-1 - l2tpd 0.69-13 - pppd 2.4.3-5 - samba 3.0.10-1. When attempting a connection from an XP-SP2 box pppd dies without authenticating the user (see below). I have run ntlm_auth from the command line with success. What tools can I use to identify the failure? Is there an obvious error in the ppp options file?

[Flac-users] directing flac -t output to a file
This may be more a question about the pseudo-DOS command line than about flac itself, but at this point I don't really know. How can one direct the output of flac -t to a file instead of the screen? Often I'd like to verify a large number of flac files, and Speek's front-end is very good for writing up the batch file for that (flac -t itself doesn't seem to expand wildcards on

Patch to support timing of Speex stream
Here is a small patch to enable speex streams to be timed when being sent by libshout (I hope attachments can make it). There is also a fix for the defining of HAVE_THEORA. The speex.c file goes into the src directory. I've tested with 8KHz and 16KHz files from 11 seconds to 180 minutes. Cheers, William. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Name:

Winamp plug-in
When using Winamp's diskwriter with the ogg plug-in v1.13 the resulting wav files are only named 01, 02, etc. So the original names are lost. I hope Peter can fix this. RequireSecuritySignature=1 and public share with guest not working
Due to security reasons smb signing has to be activated and this share between linux and windows is now dead. And I do not find the correct settings to do a public share in this szenario. It has to be public, because the linux is'nt allowed to join the domain and on the other way, the win-clients cannot leave their domains. And I think, just signing smb-messages should not speek against a

[Flac-users] troubles with 1.0.3 beta4 front-end
When you maximize the window, the position of the Fingerprint button doesn't adjust; the Help function still scrolls the first two screenfuls together without a break, so that the first screenful is impossible to read; not sure how, but the first time I tried it, it locked up and couldn't close (needed a three-finger salute). This is under WindowsME on a vintage 1998 266MHz Pentium II.

Speex on M3 for a device for a disabled person to use
Hi Tristan, well... if speed is really his problem (and looking at those 72 MHz it probably is), wouldn't Speek surpass Opus by far? I agree that Opus is way better, but it's sadly also using more resources... But yeah, Richard you should give Opus a try if possible ;) It's generally easier to use then Speex and also more feature rich. Yours sincerely, Ren? Sch?mann *From:*

RequireSecuritySignature=1 and public share with guest not working
Hi Rowland The client is stopping communication, not the server. With error 1240. And since it is working with the client setting RequireSecuritySignature=0 without any problem, ' hosts allow' cannot be either the problem nor the solution. So - setting RequireSecuritySignature=1 at the client needs a corresponding setting at the server - I guess. But even explicit settings on samba side

RequireSecuritySignature=1 and public share with guest not working
Hi Louis Thank you! As i wrote in my first post, i tried even with these settings: client max protocol = SMB3 client min protocol = SMB2 client signing = required server signing = required But it was not working - as soon I use RequireSecuritySignature=1 on the client. It seems for that the client is stopping communication since the Win7-client expects something

Speech Recognition
Does anyone know of a speech recognition module (like say yes or no, or numbers) I guess due to the complexity of speech recognition it might just be found in commercial applications or am I wrong like always? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... header question
Another thing i noted when looking at the java code is a package counter ... is it important to know at which package the stream pointer stands? I mean, if it is important to continously increment the package counter i would have to repackage the audio data for every listener .... which can become quite CPU loady ... ulrich <p><p>Ulrich B. Speex for Windows
speexenc.exe and speexdec.exe ARE Windows programs - they just don't have a GUI. You're supposed to run them from the command prompt. If you need a GUI front-end for them, try this: http://members.home.nl/w.speek/speex.htm Tom Victor Lewis (viclewis2003@earthlink.net) wrote: > > I downloaded Speex Windows Binaries and installed the program. Re: Problems to compile speex 1.1.10 on windows
And what are these "only minor tweaks" to force the compiler to accept the C casts? Is someone here who can give me these options? The system of options for gcc (which is integrated in dev-c++) is very complex for someone like me who is a delphi but not a c expert.

decoding 24-bit FLAC files
Hi, I've been using FLAC for several years, but mostly with 16-bit files (I never actually checked until now, but that would be my guess). I recently got errors in Nero trying to load WAV audio files decoded from FLAC, and the only (obvious) difference between these and all the others that work w/o probs is that these input files are 24-bit. I didn't think there were special settings
