AEC - Echo is cancelled however.....
1) Everytime a participant speaks there is a echo for a short duration (maybe a word or two) but as the participant continues to speak without a any break the echo is 95% cancelled (i.e there is a feeble echo still present if observed very carefully). 2) The moment the participant stops / pauses speaking and start talking again, scenario 1 is repeated as if the echo state has been re-initialized or reset. Please note that I observe this in a single audio session and not after restarting the application. I confirm that I am not re-initializing the echo state after the session starts. Is this norm...

Regression: Dragon Naturally Speaking 7.
I had installed Dragon Naturally Speaking under Wine 1.1.7 and earlier, and it was working fine. But now under Wine 1.1.9, the result seems to be, that the toolbar for this application first goes into a strange state, where the (Linux) cursor disappears whenever the mouse is positioned over the application's toolbar. And using winecfg...

Voice "broken" during calls
...I really think, the problem should be by Deutsche Telekom... Especially since you say you do not get the problem when you have calls in via Messagenet for your Italian calls. > What is your opinion? Do you see some other tests I should try? Yes. I'm intrigued by the "only one party speaking at a time" test you did. What happens if: a) you call someone external, speak for about 30 seconds without them making any sound, then they start speaking *at the same time as you*, then you stop talking and they carry on. b) exactly the same, except this time they call you, so it's a...

Eric S. No, Linux's python has no notion of COM (which is obviously a win32 only thing). And windows python doesn't work all that well on Wine.

R-alpha: a question on terminology
Whereas we typically refer to the add-on `modules' as `libraries' (viz also the way these are represented in the search list, and the variable .Libraries), S speaks about `sections'. Shall we stay with our terminology? Or instead, speak of `sections', `packages', `modules', ...? -k =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- r-devel

AEC - Echo is cancelled however.....
Yes. I guessed that too, however I am not sure why it keeps repeating every time the user stops / pauses and starts speaking again in a single session. I am using a laptop with standalone speakers. For echo cancellation to work one has to make sure that the ref and echo buffers are synchronized. I guess this is the most common problem. -Elston -----Original Message----- From: Anton A. Meetme echo cancellation
Hi there I am using IAX2 softphones dialing into a meetme conference. In my softphone I was forcing uses to click on a button when they wanted to speak, enabling their microphone and disabling their speakers. This way when a user was speaking they did not hear their voice half a second later (because meetme mixes the voice and sends to everyone in the conference). Now because of requirements there is a need for users not to have to click a button when speaking (and have their microphones and speakers enabled at all times) - much like S...

confbridge play tone before speaking
I use both confbridge to bring several devices into a receive only or listen mode, then allow the one person on the phone to speak live over those devices. Works great. However - now I would like to be able to "play a tone" into the conference before the person speaks. How might that be accomplished? Thanks, Jerry -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was
