Parsing RDF coming from a URL
Hello,
i''m writing an application that needs geocoding information for locations
outside of the US.
I''m using the brainoff.com geocoding service
mappoint = Net::HTTP.new(''brainoff.com'', 80)
response = mappoint.get(''/geocoder/rest/?city=Gent,BE'')

Upgrading from Debian Stretch to Buster, Van Belle package
Ah, ok,
apt-get remove libldb1 ldb-tools
Then try again : apt install samba winbind acl
The replacement of libldb1 to libldb2 is missing something.
I'll have a look at that.

Text Encoding
...ing the RDF package/ R 2.14 with the RDF package to download data
from a website, and then use R to manipulate it.
Text on the website is UTF-8. The RDF package's rdf_load command is
converting it into a different encoding, which converts non-ASCII
characters to unicode codes.
On the webpage/sparql RDF: "4.5µg of cDNA was used"
In R, the RDF triple gives: "4.5\\u00B5g of cDNA was used"
I can't seem to convert it back from \\u00B5 into "µ".
I've tried iconv with various settings without success:

Spotlight configuration trouble
...somewhere or the problem is with either Tracker or Samba.
I also tried with Debian 10, Samba 4.11.13 and Tracker 2.1 and I get this when opening the share:

Could not connect to Tracker: Failed to load SPARQL backend: Cannot autolaunch D-Bus without X11 $DISPLAY
So this points more to a DBus problem. I even tried to run Tracker under the root account but no change. The last time I tried Tracker backend was about two years ago and I got it working then, not sure what?s the problem this time.

yep, WSP server that translates protocol to tracker sparql queries is
working (with caveats [1])
The code would need some effort to get it in shape, as you might imagine
there has been quite a bit of bitrot especially of late as recent dce
rework broke it (although I have a WIP version working against current
master (even more hacky than usual)

Error: XML content does not seem to be XML: ''
Hi there,
I am attempting to access an Allegro Graph site, using SPARQL function in RStudio and am getting this error message "Error: XML content does not seem to be XML: ''. However, the same query that I am using within the SPARQL function can get back the results when directly from the browser.
Please advise.
Cheers,

.... i''d prefer a single interpreter process. otherwise i''m going to have to come up with some distributed cache invalidation scheme (typically the user load is 1-15, small workgroups, which loadwise is fine except they may experience a few seconds lag in their requests if eg a heavy SPARQL query is going on in another request)
oh, and id like to hear ''sure, but you have to hack up the mongrel configurator slightly, and not do this'' rather than ''just use a pack of mongrels''
cheers :)

Samba + spotlight/tracker
I'm currently using the standard Samba 4.5.8 on Debian 9.1, but would like
to have spotlight support for Mac users. As far as I can tell, the standard
package isn't compiled with spotlight support, so I will need to compile it
myself.
Is there an easy way to know what the configure string was that was used to
compile the packaged version? I simply want to add the --enable-spotlight
flag

Hi list,
If I compile samba-4.9.2 tag from git, i get
# ldbsearch --version

taking the same from the van-Belle build i get
$ ldbsearch --version
Invalid option --version: unknown option

But looking with dpkg I get:
$ dpkg-query -l ldb-tools
