have to be stopped, then started, rather than restarted.
This is completely unacceptable behavior, since it leave the system with
no network connection. Pre-systemd, as we all know, restart *RESTARTED*
the damn thing.
Is there some Magic (#insert "pixie-dust-sparkles") incantation, either
restarting NetworkManager, or using nm-cli, to force it to perform the
expected actions?
Btw, if this is supposed to be part of the "hide stuff, desktop Linux
users don't need to know this stuff", this is a *much* worse result.

Samba with Mysql, compilation problem.
...ion from the stable branch few
monthes ago, everything was just fine, i have a linux box which was
sharing files for another linux workstation and two WinXP laptops. The
sharing linux box is a debian stable branch O/S, which is my choice for
a long time now.
Few weeks ago, i decided to make my sparkling samba installation
virtual-users aware, and i began to crawl on various websites, all
explaining the smb.conf parametters to give. I figured out that i was
just not able to make it run because of a main problem, the apt-get
samba gave me a non mysql-powered-samba version :(
So i removed the...

Yyyyeah.
Let?s rewrite the quote with that interpretation:
?We have already discovered everything we are going to discover
up to and including February 18, 1900.?
? William Thomson, Lord Kelvin, 1900
Not exactly the sparkling sort of statement we expect from one of the most brilliant scientists ever to walk the planet, is it? Rather on the vapid side, yes? Could it be that that is not actually what he meant?
Don?t like Kelvin? ?Kay, how about this one:

I'd be interested in the journal from the NetworkManager restart as
that's not the way it behaves ... it uses the netlink API to get state

Hi there,
I have a Problem starting MP3Tag 2.32a although the AppDB says there
should be no problems. The application does not start, but leaves Error

Re: Prey and OpenGL
...ink combination and having to nearly rebuild my pc to allow room for it (nearly the size of my card and over 1 inch thick !) or replacing the card.
Since I thought that the fan problem might be the thin end of the wedge and I might get more problems with the card I decided to replace it.
I bought a Sparkle Nvidia GeForce 7600 GS with 512 Mb Ram. I installed the card and installed the 9755-pclos207 drivers from Synaptic.
I thought, what the hell, lets give it a go, and reinstalled Prey and the 1.4 patch yet again.
Went into Wine configurator and selected Allow the window manager to control the window...

[Bridge] Problem with startup script

. The bridge has solved a lot of security headaches. I use a modified start=
up script written by David Whitmarsh that has worked really well. http://ww=

Now that Fedora C2 has the 2.6 kernel (2.6.5-1.358) I figured I'd try it on=

simplicity, and double checked the networking files to make sure eth0 and =

LDAP/PDC migration to Samba4
...but I'm a little
in the dark on how to arrange whole process.
Right now, the situation is imagined as follows:
Server A: LDAP/PDC/Samba3/NAT/DHCP/BIND/everything else.
Server B: New installation, x86_64, Samba4, would-be-replacement for Server A.
Local network: Win2k/WinXP/Win7 systems, with sparkles of iOS/Android/Win8.
Now, is there a way to transparently add the new server as a BDC, wait for
transfer, then flip a switch and make it primary controller?
If this process already described somewhere, I would really appreciate
not-too-deep-and-sidestepped guidelines.
I'm eternally thankfu...

I made https://github.com/puppetlabs/puppetlabs-rabbitmq/pull/71 which is

want to continue overhauling this module completely until it sparkles.
Please take a poke in there and comment if you''re a rabbitmq user.
Thanks,

Switching to active_record_store session management errors out
Hello,
Running Ruby 1.8.6 and Rails 2.2.2 against an Oracle XE database
(sigh).
I just upgraded Rails from 1.2.3 to 2.2.2, which made my cookie based
system for storing session information to error out due to the 4Kb
limit. So, I tried to turn on the active_record_store system by un-
commenting out the "config.action_controller.session_store
= :active_record_store" line in
