Blocking spamblocked.earthlink.net
For those who don't know, Greg Houlette sent in a request from an
address that doesn't conveniently accept replies.
If people can't be bothered to read our replies, we shouldn't be
bothered by their requests.
Just a note. Maybe a request for a killfile.

Problem with Samba 3.4.3 - previous 3.3.x worked fine
Hi folks;
I have an odd one.
I recently upgraded from 3.3.x to 3.4.3 and suddenly lost both the old
"smbpasswd" file AND the ability to connect to printers from Windows 7
clients.
File server is fine, and everything else is working - I can connect to
printers from XP machines, but not from Windows 7 any more.
I get an "0x00000000d" error from Win7 when I try to connect....

company exchange server & exim best practices.
Hi all,
I hope this isn't too OT, but since I use a CentOS5.2 + Exim mail
server (which is hosted in one of our data centres) I don't think it
should be.
On of our clients use an MS Exchange 2003 SBS server, with exchange
for their internal email. We provide them with a domain, ADSL (which
uses dynamic DNS) and POP3 email. They don't have an spam filter
program on the exchange server

Newbie: Running an application within wine (installed fine)
I had successfully installed BrilliantPhoto with wine, so that I have

file:/home/dotancohen/.wine/c/Program Files/Brilliant Labs/BrilliantPhoto
but when I run the command
wine /home/dotancohen/.wine/c/Program\ Files/Brilliant\
Labs/BrilliantPhoto/BrilliantPhoto.exe
it justs sits there with no output until I ctrl-Z it. Silly me, I even
tried to click the icon in Konqueror to start

IKEv2/IPSEC "Road Warrior" VPN Tunneling?
Is there a "cookbook" for setting this up? There are examples for
setting up a tunnel between two fixed-address networks (e.g. a remote
LAN that needs to be "integrated" with a central LAN over IPSec but I
can't find anything addressing the other situation -- remote user(s)
where the connecting IPs are not known in advance, such as a person with

Thank You!
Robert's suggestion indeed fixed the problem. I kept thinking
those entries were necessary in inetd.conf. Also, kind
thanks to Fred Gilbert for his prompt responses.:-)

Combining Transparent Proxying with SSH Port Forwarding
I've wondered if this topic has been discussed relative to enhancing
the current capabilities of OpenSSH. Please forgive me if I don't
use the exact terminology that you may be used to in describing SSH
or Transparent Proxy operation. I continue to learn. Always...
Here's what I mean:
1) Port forwarding through SSH is generally a configuration that is
