dovecot, spamassasin and lmtp
...do something similar now? I still want my filtering to be
done by the Evolution. So I need something similar what procmail is doing
i.e. altering the email header and putting some tag on it if it is a SPAM.
Thanks.

Samba PDC & Exchange 2000 Server
...nd we have all the functionality we need.
So, we have MS Server 2000 and Exchange 2000 which we used to use, but had all sorts hacking issues etc when we used it for our Domain and Mail. I've been thinking that we could continue with our Samba PDC and use something like postfix, with amavis and spamassasin to act as a SMTP relay agent to an Exchange 2000 stand alone server which is fully isolated behind our firewall on a protected subnet and use port forwarding to enable Webmail and OpenVPN server to access the mail from outside.
Does anyone know how to connect Exchange to Samba & Openldap and al...

Centos 4
...done an upgrade from RHEL3 to RHEL4? Is this likely to break
a lot of things? How long will Centos be supporting version 3? I just
installed Centos 3.4 two weeks ago!
The only problem I'm having with Centos is that the perl is a bit old. I
have errors with spamassassin. So far bugzilla for spamassasin is
blaming it on the version of perl included in RHEL3 and bugs in the
'taint' code. I see that RHEL4 has newer Perl packages.

Dove LDA vs Exim LDA
Hello All,
I have built up my email server with exim + dovecot + clamv/spamassasin.
I am using exim as LDA(local delivery agent). I was reading about using
dovecot as LDA but I couldn't find why should I use it?
Now, I am looking expert advice on "Why should I use dovecot LDA" ? Is
there any benefit in terms of functionality or performance ?
Any advice/suggesti...

I've been using "-f flow fetch text | sed s/^text=//" when training
spamassasin. Couldn't find a straightforward 'fetch raw message'. Seems
unnecessarily awkward. Moving headers to stderr would help this, though.

CentOS on Xen question (Xen Hosting)
List:
I am considering getting a Xen based virtual server for providing static
web-site, secondary MX & DNS. Pros & Cons? anyone?
Minimal install from the centos server CD (centos will be the guest OS)
with Apache, Selinux, Iptables, qmail, spamassasin, djbdns, clam, mysql,
postgreSQL & INN. Any install issues?
What should be the HDD & RAM requirement, in addition to my database
size & say 10 GB for mail?
Also, how much bandwidth saving can I get with say 10 MB mail (from
mailing lists) and script to compress and get it by rsync?

Advice, Please.
...ve it configured to pop mail locally. I have fetchmail configured to dl
from my provider my families mail through a cron job and .fetchmailrc in
their home directories. They then pop the server to retrieve their mail.
They send their mail directly through the provider.
I have been relying on spamassasin on their local boxes to learn and filter
out the spam but find it is only doing about half of the job even after
months of training.
I guess my question is this. Is there a way to do further spam filtering on
the mail server incorporating my method of doing mail or am I not just doing
this ri...

Problems with Sieve and vnd.dovecot.pipe

I have changed my mailserver from spamassasin and procmail to rspamd and

I have created a script to learn spam:
