Object oriented programming in R.
Hello everyone.
I would like to create many objects with R. Does R support objects?
The number of objects needed is not predetermined and it is a parameter
specified by the user.
If the user selects to create many objects like 100, would it be possible to
handle each one by some index?
I would like to thank you in advance for your help.
Best Regards
Alex

SOURCEID: An ID which can be used to identify the source medium or to
identify the original network source of the track. Since the SOURCEID tag
is meant to provide exact machine-understandable information, it's format
should comply with specified formats. Here are samples:

Rename XICreateMaster to XIAddMaster for consistency.
XIHierarchyEvent should list num_info, not num_devices.
Require inputproto 1.9.99.11.
XISelectEvents and XIGetSelectedEvents use "win" now instead of "window"
Add sourceid to device classes.
Fix a few wrong 'evtype' comments.
XIButtonClass now includes a XIButtonState struct.
Include the current valuator state in XIQueryDevice.
Protect button label copying against 64-bit Atom madness.
Axis and button labels should be called label...

Linux vs. Windows XP routing latency
Hello, I have a problem with the latency of the packets passing a Linux router, and I thought perhaps you could put some light on it.
It''s quite simple. I have one ADSL connection, and a LAN. The gateway is the Linux machine or a Windows XP machine. When the wXP is routing, for a host inside the LAN, the latency of, for example, the Counter Strike game to a given server is around 20 to 30

send commands from external script
...istics (where is the
source ip?).
icecast 1.3 has all the features i need, but it´s not stable/secure
enough.
i tried to use icecast1 as source pool and relay the selected streams
to icecast2.
But If I execute the relay command on icecast1 the server hangs up.
I used this command:
relay push <sourceid> localhost:8000 -p <password> -m /icecast1
Thanks,
Luke

markov regime switching models
Hi,
I am looking for a package to estimate regime switching models (states
following a markov chain).
I found packages for Hidden Markov Models but I am looking for something a
little different: In the HMM the conditional distribution of the
observations (give the state) is a known distribution (normal or others),
while the package I need should allow to set a conditional distribution

RFI: recommendation for temperature monitoring
Good morning gurus,
I would like to get recommendation for monitoring temperature
for cpu using Asus P5WD2 motherboard and Intel D 820.
I my installation has CPU cooling system changed from Intel bulk to
Zalman CNPS9500 and it works. Normal Intel cooling system is not
enough and is overheating cpu quite badly. Unfortunately Zalman
has to be controlled (rpms) manually and thus I would like to see

OT: Evolution folder location
I have used Eudora since v 1.35 (circa '93). For quite some time, I
have enjoyed keeping each of my mail accounts' folders in totally
separate directory trees. In Eudora you do this by specifying the
data locatoin as part of the startup: '<program location>/eudora.exe
<data location>'
So I am quite spoiled. But there is no Eudora support in Linux/CentOS.
So

app_meetme.so
Hi all,
I'm using Asterisk 1.2.5 and , for some reason, when I install it, the
module app_meetme.so didn't install. Is there some way to download
that module, and add it to asterisk without re-install it?
Thanks in advance

Tomcat authentication via PAM (or other system methods)?
Is there a way to coax java services running under tomcat to use the
system authentication methods set up through PAM? In my case, this would
be users in the local passwd file or through smb to a windows domain.
I've added mod_auth_pam to get this effect with apache but would like to
also handle java web services.

how to create a local update server.
could someone please point me in the right direction for creating a
local repository for centos updates.
Scenario: I have one centos server connected to the internet, it
provides ntpd, httpd, and other services to both internal and external
clients (only httpd is serving external clients).
the clients are connected to the first centos server and it functions
as a NAT router for internet
