I *really* dislike the new photon UI. I WANT the arrow buttons top and bottom of the scrollbars. Does anyone know how to bring them back, or is that "that's *sooo* last year, you can't ever have them again"? mark

odd issue with IP tables
...rs. I allow 5060 and 10000-20000. As soon as I start iptables and make a call it literally takes 60-90 seconds before the call even starts to ring. As soon as I shut iptables off, the call goes through immediately again. Its quite odd. The call does eventually go through and talks fine but it takes sooo long to connect. Anyone have some suggestions? Thanks Curt

iptables ... *BSD pf ... pfSense
Hi, I followed the "Optimizing CentOS for gigabit firewall" posting and as some posters wrote pf is soo sooo ssooooo mutch faster, I was thinking to give it a try. But I'm not familier to BSD so I was looking for some tools and found "pfsense" http://www.pfsense.org/ "pfSense is a free, open source customized distribution of FreeBSD tailored for use as a firewall and router"...

render .rhtmlx if present, otherwise render .rhtml
We have a product where our customer is "allowed" to make minor changes to the .rhtml views. Obviously, this can be an issue when updating the software, as changes need to be merged in. Also, sometimes the customer wants to back out there change but no longer has the original file. SOOO.... I''d like to tell them - if you want to change a .rhtml file - just copy it to .rhtmlx and change away Then rails will pick up the .rhtmlx if present, otherwise will render the normal .rhtml Any idea of a good/easy way to do this ? -- THanks --~--~---------~--~----~------------~--...

xen-unstable: TX/RX ring buffer exhaustion and NR_GRANT_FRAMES
...fs vif: probe of vif-3 failed with error -12 [...] message - see bug #183. It was pointed out to me that it might be possible to adjust this manually in xen/include/xen/grant_table.h, however, setting ORDER_GRANT_FRAMES to 3 to get more pages of grant tables doesn''t change anything. Sooo, question #1: how can I alter the code to get more grant tables such that more nics per domU will become available? Question #2: is it planned to make this configurable, e.g. by boot option for dom0? Regards, -- Birger Tödtmann email:btoedtmann@iem.uni-due.de Technik der Rechn...

ARSession Woes!
I''m having an issue with ARsessions... I have a rails app AND a merb app both under the same domain... I have redirects working for this to be seamless... however, the session started on merb is different than the session started in the rails app... like so.. http://pastie.caboo.se/private/r1ar42qiaekrqjdt6y Any ideas why? The only difference I see, but dunno where to change this, is

Fun with ez_where
...ter] end end But this doesn''t work. It doesn''t throw an error, but it adds a clause to the @filter like this... - !ruby/object:Caboose::EZ::Clause name: params table_prefix: table. test: :[] value: :filter and otherwise doesn''t behave as you might expect. Sooo... if want to use the ez_where plugin with conditions, be careful. There''s probably a way around this, hopefully Ezra has some nifty trick for making this work as expected. _Kevin www.sciwerks.com -- Posted with http://DevLists.com. Sign up and save your mailbox.

Now: Small Biz Robust Asterisk Solution - SBRAS
...low-cost centralized mass storage. One volume made from multiple disks, with the unique ability to keep either stripped or mirrored backups - fantastic. And it came as a free add-on for Apple Servers (yippee!). SCSI disks are cheap if the work you're doing is expensive. :-) Ad. PS SCSI is sooo yesterday. We're onto Serial ATA, and lot's of it. We're just about to buy a 3.5TB SAN RAID array which is built from Serial ATA's. And it's fast. Plus damn cheap. And Apple of course :-)

plotting a double y axis when x and y lengths differ
...gap=0, col="red", xlab="YEAR") par(new=TRUE) plotCI(x=(Data2$Year) +offset, y=Data2$Data, uiw=Data2$SE,lty=1,sfrac=.005, type="l", gap=0, col="blue", xaxt="n",yaxt="n",xlab="",ylab="") axis(4) This above code is sooo close to what I want. It creates a plot where even though one data set contains much larger numbers than the other, both fit on the same plot without me having to manually adjust the Y axis. And the generating the second Y-axis is simple. But my problem is with the x axis The issue is that because...

dendrogram / clusteranalysis plotting
Dear all, i performed a clusteranalysis - which worked so far... i plotted the dendrogram and sooo many branches, a rough sketch would be enough ;) i tried max.levels therefore which worked, but not for the plot... i used the following plot(hcd, nodePar =nP, str(hcd,max.level=1)) the output on the terminal was: --[dendrogram w/ 2 branches and 196 members at h = 2.70] |--[dendrogram w/ 2...

/var/run/dovecot mode 750 too tight
...error] deliver(frank): userdb lookup: connect(/var/run/dovecot/auth-master) failed: Permission denied (euid=500(vmail) egid=500(vmail) missing +x perm: /var/run/dovecot) I will say this: dovecot's error reporting in general is head and shoulders above the norm. Makes tracking down problems sooo much easier. Something else I noticed, should the dict-server socket really be mode 777? At least a-x I would think. -frank

Wine - execution
Hi! Sorry, that was meant indeed for program execution (to open/run the program), not downloading. The term used was wrong ;( , I'm not sooo good in English and computer language ;). Can you please tell me how to run the program? After downloading it saves to my folder, but then I don't know what to do - what program to choose or what to write in the terminal (console). Thanks so much for help! Meta

Solaris8 and winbind.
Hi, I used to look forward to Samba's warning free compilations, but this is to be no more. I've got samba 2.2.2 installed and running with --without-winbind, but it seems that this is a good thing to have. Sooo... Has anyone successfully compiled winbind on Solaris 8 using cc? I'm using cc (cc: Sun WorkShop 6 update 1 C 5.2 2000/09/11) and am running into the same compile errors posted earlier. Thank you, Philip Thompson Philip R.
