dclone 1.3-0
...pproach and a variant of simulated annealing which exploits Bayesian MCMC tools to get maximum likelihood point estimates and corresponding standard errors (see Lele et al. 2007, Ecology Letters, 10:551-563). The implementation used in the 'dclone' package is described in the recent paper: Solymos, P. 2010. dclone: Data Cloning in R. The R Journal, 2(2):29-37. URL: http://journal.r-project.org/archive/2010-2/RJournal_2010-2_Solymos.pdf The current release of 'dclone' supports parallel computations via the 'snow' package. PVAClone: new package for population viability analysis
...Viability Analysis (PVA) methodology using data cloning. The data cloning algorithm by Lele et al. (2007, 2010) is employed to compute maximum likelihood estimates of the state-space model parameters and the corresponding standard errors, heavily capitalizing on JAGS, dclone and dcme packages (see Solymos 2010). The main components of the package include estimation of univariate population growth models, model selection and extinction risk estimation: * Model Estimation * - computes maximum likelihood Estimation of the univariate population growth models, both in the presence or absence of observa...

apply lm function to dataset split by two variables
...script works for data from a single year, but I don't find a way to subset the data by sps AND year and get the function running: f <- function(data) lm(log(w) ~ log(cm+0.5), data = data) v <- lapply(split(data, data$sps), f) and then I can extract the data with this script from Peter Solymos (although I do not get the number of points used in the analysis): myFun <- function(lm) { out <- c(lm$coefficients[1], lm$coefficients[2], length(lm$run1$model$y), summary(lm)$coefficients[2,2], pf(summary(lm)$fstatistic[1], summary(lm)$fstatistic[2], summary(lm)$fstati...

why is adnonis function called adonis {package vegan}
Hello all, I used google and looked at the documentation to find out why the ADONIS function is called adonis (in the vegan package). I am writing a document and would like to include a abbreviation list (similar to "ANOSIM = Analysis of Similarities"). regards, Steve
