That's plenty strange. The output of "lsblk" might tell you why those
devices are busy.

network raid file system/server
hi,
we've a few 10-20 server in a lan each has 4-8 hdd. we'd like to create
one big file server on these server hard disks and we'd like to create
it in a redundant way ie:
- if one (or more) of the hdd or server fails the whole filesystem still
usable and consistent.
- any server in this farm can see the same storage/filesystem.
it's someting a big network raid5-6... storage where

ATA DMA issues - are there problems lurking in 7.1?
Greetings,
I have several Tyan S2518UGN (Thunder LE-T) server boards that I've
been running for a few yrs. I've always used the SCSI on them, so never
really used the ATA ports. I once experimented dual-booting NT2003 & FBSD
on one of the ATA ports about a year ago. But ran into the problem I'm
running into now. Back then I just blamed it on the drive (even tho it

ZFS Scalability/performance
..., same with the 120 gigs and use the scrap on those aswell, finally
stiching everything together with LVM2. I can''t easly find how this
would work with raid-Z/ZFS, e.g. can I really just put all these disks
in 1 big pool and remove/add to it at will? And I really don''t need to
use softwareraid yet still have the same reliablity with raid-z as I had
with raid-5? What about hardware raid controllers, just use it as a JBOD
device, or would I use it to match up disk sizes in raid0 stripes (e.g.
the 3x 120gb to make a 360 raid0).
Or you''d recommend to just stick with raid/lvm/reiser...

Problem with ext3 filesystem
Hey,
I've a problem with an ext3 filesystem and don't know how to fix it or
find the failure :(
The Hardware:
Tyan mainboard, AMD Athlon CPU, ARECA ARC-1120 RaidController Raid5 with
400GB Seagate HD's, 756 MB Ram, other harddisks for system, network and
avm isdn controller.
Couse of the filesystem problems I run memtest and found one bad memory
module which I replaced yet.
