I have been reading about software raid. I configured my first software raid system about a month ago. I have 4 500 Gig drives configured in RAID 5 configuration with a total of 1.5TB. Currently I configured the complete individual drivers as software raid, then created a /dev/md0 with the drives I then created a /file_storage partition on /dev/md0. I created my /boot / and swap partitions on

...RAID 1 array with only one member. Based on some reading, it seems that I should be able to use kickstart with the PRE scripts to do this. However, after trying for a couple of hours, it doesn't seem that anaconda will allow it, it just boots the created arrays. At best I end up with a list of softraid partitions instead. Current incarnation of the machine, after the last rebuild, is an AMD Opteron 4180 with a Supermicro MB using ATI SB700 chipset - which means it supports SATA 3.0. Current storage is one o/s drive, and a 4-drive RAID10 array. The RAID10 is using the Linux softraid via mdadm. The drives are Seagates - ST3160811AS. So it's 320GB of storage, and SATA 1.5. Hello, It seems dovecop pop3 server sometimes inserts a blank line at the top of the mbox. It only happens for certain users not all. I'm not sure why it's doing that. Looking back into the mailing list, I saw the same post in Oct 6, 2003 but there was no reply to it. Is there a patch or fix that i can use to get around the blank line? Thank you. Ken

Hello... I have a server with 4 x SCSI drives and I would like to install Centos 4 (or 5) onto a software RAID 10 array. Do you know if this is possible? I noticed that under the Centos 4.92 beta, RAID 5 is an option but for some reason RAID 10 is not listed.
