zpool upgrade wrecked GRUB
Machine is running x86 snv_94 after recent upgrade from opensolaris 2008.05. ZFS and zpool reported no troubles except suggesting upgrade for from ver.10 to ver.11. seemed like a good idea at the time. system up for several days after that point then took down for some unrelated maintenance. now will not boot the opensol, dr...

Bridging to vlan interface?
Hi, I''m using opensolaris 2008.05, updated to snv_94. On dom0, I have : - bnx1 connected to switch as trunk - bnx128001, vlan 128 on bnx1, allocated an IP address and serve as dom0''s primary network interface. I created a RHEL5 domU with this vif config vif = [ ''mac=00:16:XX:XX:XX:XX, bridge=bnx128001'' ] but domU startup...

Snapshots during a scrub
I have a weekly scrub setup, and I''ve seen at least once now where it says "don''t snapshot while scrubbing" Is this a data integrity issue, or will it make one or both of the processes take longer? Thanks

HELP! SNV_97,98,99 zfs with iscsitadm and VMWare!
...;d greatly appreciate it if it gets moved to the proper list. Well I''m just about out of ideas on what might be wrong.. Quick history: I installed OS 2008.05 when it was SNV_86 to try out ZFS with VMWare. Found out that multilun''s were being treated as multipaths so waited till SNV_94 came out to fix the issues with VMWARE and iscsitadm/zfs shareiscsi=on. I Installed OS2008.05 on a virtual machine as a test bed, pkg image-update to SNV_94 a month ago, made some thin provisioned partitions, shared them with iscsitadm and mounted on VMWare without any problems. Ran storage VMotio...

The best motherboard for a home ZFS fileserver
I''m a fan of ZFS since I''ve read about it last year. Now I''m on the way to build a home fileserver and I''m thinking to go with Opensolaris and eventually ZFS!! Apart from the other components, the main problem is to choose the motherboard. The offer is incredibly high and I''m lost. Minimum requisites should be: - working well with Open Solaris ;-) -
