CentOS 4 snag with htaccess
I'm hitting a snag with htaccess. Have created .htaccess and .htpasswd files, set up apache directory options just like always... the exact same setup works fine on CentOS 3, but I can't seem to get it to authenticate on CentOS 4? Am I just being blind stupid (as in not seeing something 'exactly the same&...

[LLVMdev] Hit a snag while attempting to write a backend - any advice?
Hi Lee, > let isReturn = 1, isTerminator = 1, isBarrier = 1 in > { > def RET : BitscuitInst<(outs),(ins),"JMP\tR6",[(Bitscuit_return)]>; > > def JMP : BitscuitInst<(outs), (ins jmptarget:$dst),"JMP\t$dst",[(br > bb:$dst)]>; > } Ah! It looks like the isReturn is to blame then. LLVM is presumably going through adding an implicit use of any

[LLVMdev] Hit a snag while attempting to write a backend - any advice?
Hi Lee, > Massive thanks, I've been staring at this problem for so long I was beginning to go a little stir crazy. No worries. I know how annoying it can be trying to fix these problems. "isBarrier" is the one that usually got me. > Out of interest is there a good explanation of the various isterminator etc flags anywhere? The best I know of is

Snag installing CentOS in a VirtualBox VM
I spent most of the evening trying to boot a new install of CentOS in a VirtualBox VM. The VM recognizes the install DVD, runs it, asks for me to boot it and I type in <return> (or any number of other combinations, all of which fail in exactly the same way) and it continues to run up to the point shown in the attached screenshot. I've tried numerous different combinations of device

Mac OS X + Samba + NT = Snag
After much nashing of teeth, I have compiled and installed Samba on Mac OS X! The following lines (or something like them) should probably be added to the config.guess file in the samba/source directory: Power*:Darwin:*:*) echo powerpc-apple-darwin${UNAME_RELEASE} exit 0 ;; I added them right after the "mac68k:OpenBSD:*:*)" section. I was not able to get the inetd installation

Automated Fixed Order Stepwise Regression Function
...ction for this already called add1( ). The F statistics are calculated using type 2 anova (the SS and the F changes don't match SPSS's). You can see my use of this at the very end of the email. What I want: a function to make an anova table with f changes and delt R^2. I ran into 10 snags to making this a fully automated function using the full linear model (order matters here). Each snag is marked with a Comment #. Some snags are repeated because I couldn't do the first time and certainly couldn't do it after that. Help with any/all snags would be very appreciated. I&...

problem with "make distribution"
Dear R People: I'm trying to experiment with the "make distribution" with R-2.12.0 when compiling from source on Windows. It works fine on Windows XP, but I'm having a snag with Windows 7. Here is the snag: cp -prf "../../../Tcl" R-2.12.0 cp: preserving permissions for `R-2.12.0/Tcl/bin': Invalid argument cp: preserving permissions for `R-2.12.0/Tcl/doc': Invalid argument and so on. Has anyone run into this, please? Thanks for any help. Sincere...

procmail -> deliver: file too large
I am using procmail with deliver as recommended on the wiki to send mail snagged by SpamAssassin straight to a spam folder. It seemed to be working fine, but now I'm finding messages like this: Sep 17 12:13:47 hosty deliver(whoey): write() failed with mbox file /var/mail/whoey: File too large I don't think this is a setrlimit problem -- the host operating system is...

generate with spaces?
Hi, I''ve been using puppet for about a week and a half now, and it''s definitely making my life a lot easier. I''m using 0.24.1 and I''ve run into a small snag. I''m trying to write some code to make sure user home directories exist for users in LDAP. I''m trying to get their uid, gid and home directory from getent with something like: $uid = generate("/usr/bin/getentfield passwd $title 3") getentfield is a bash script th...

State of IceCast2?
...lcast. DarkIce claims support for IceCast2, which supports streaming Ogg-vorbis media. The only sticking point I'm running into -- it's been damned near impossible to find anything more than mere scraps of information about the state of IceCast2. How mature is it? OT: Need some riser card advice...
Fellow server-builders out there, this is for you. :) I was trying to build a cheap JBOD type storage solution running CentOS. Ended up snagging a Supermicro SC826TQ-R800LPB 2U case (12 drives slots) and a Supermicro X7DBE-O motherboard. Unfortunately, without thinking I snagged a 3ware 9650SE-12ML SATA RAID card which is a full height card and thus does not fit in my case. I have a few options here: - Go with a 3U case instead. N...

Problem running Windows Notepad under Wine
Gentlefolk, I need to give someone the ability to create Windows-format text documents, which I can then copy (via SMB) to a W2000 machine for further processing. I've got the file-sharing up and running, and Wine installed and running Windows Notepad OK, but I've hit a snag trying to set it up to load Notepad automatically when the file-icon is clicked :- Environment - ubuntu 6.06, gnome 2.14.2, wine 0.9.17, notepad 5.0.2140.1 create a new text-file 'home/guest/Desktop/test.txt' select it in Gnome, and right-click for menu choose 'Open with other applica...

How hard to create Asterisk for Compact Flash?
I am aware of Astlinux and the other embedded Asterisk solutions out there? Astlinux is nice but the problem is that when I hit a snag and need to incorporate a patch and what not I cannot do that with Astlinux because I cannot compile my own version. How hard is it to create my own version of Linux/Asterisk to run on Compact Flash. I have seen 1GB Sandisk CF for as low as $50 recently so small size is not too critical. I won...

Provisioning AD DC, MS-AD_Schema_2K8_R2_Attributes.txt Not found
Hi, I just removed the Canonical repo's Samba and compiled the latest version by running './configure', 'make', and 'sudo make install'. Everything went fine with that process, however, I've run into a snag when attempting to provision Samba as an ADC. I'm getting the following error: ERROR(<type 'exceptions.IOError'>): uncaught exception - [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/usr/share/samba/setup/ad-schema/MS-AD_Schema_2K8_R2_Attributes.txt' File "/usr/lib/python...

Libvirt for virtual devices like virtual printers
...U as the hypervisor (no KVM-only Qemu). Currently we have our own application to manage the virtual printers. Our plan is to migrate to libvirt, and enable our application to use the libvirt APIs. libvirt code currently looks to be specialized in pure OS-specific guests (like PCs), and I hit snags where there are manadatory devices added which a virtual printer does not need. Are there any users who are looking into customized virtual devices? I would like to knowledge share with them. The intention is to provide new libvirt APIs whenever there is such a snag and thus enable libvirt...

[LLVMdev] Hit a snag while attempting to write a backend - any advice?
Hi, I've been experimenting with writing a backend for LLVM (3.2) (having already written a frontend http://savourysnax.github.com/EDL), everything was going reasonably ok ( calls/returns, epilogue, prologue, etc are all working), up until I tried to place support for conditional branches. Given this simple program : int test(int c,int d) { if (c) { return
