Children, HasChildren
Hello, I'm using dovecot 0.99.10.2 on a debian box. Mailstore is maildir. If I list the IMAP hierarchy in mutt (debian, 1.5.4+20031024-1) it shows all my plain mailboxes as having subfolders - while none of them have. I straced mutt and this is the IMAP exchange (a bit reformatted for readability): write(6, "a0001 LSUB \"\" \"%\"\r\n", 19) = 19 read(3, "

NFS
I've finally managed to run Dovecot without errors in two computers with maildir and indexes stored in NFS. I added a page to wiki about this: http://wiki.dovecot.org/NFS Suggestions how to keep attribute cache enabled but to allow Dovecot to specifically request not to use a cached value (when it's important) would be welcome. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text

Bug#396477: network-bridge script exits prematurely
Package: xen-utils-common Version: 3.0+hg11624-2 Severity: normal I'm running etch with xen 3.0.3 with a hand-compiled 2.6.18.1 kernel. The /etc/xen/scripts/network-bridge fails to run, because it (effectively) does this: set -e modprobe netloop > /dev/null 2>&1 As I do not have a netloop module (where is it supposed to come from ? The 2.6.18.1 xen-patched kernel doesn't

Hi, Could someone please post an example of a /etc/init.d/dovecot startup script? (We use fedora core 5, if that makes any difference.) Ours seems to be missing. Cheers, Pid

Starting Icecast as a service on CentOS
Hi All, I've recently upgraded my hosting to a VPS running CentOS. I'm trying to configure the VPS to launch Icecast as a service so that Icecast starts if the virtual server reboots, or Icecast stops running. I've found several scripts out there to place in my init.d folder, but nothing seems to work for me as of yet. Here is my Icecast2 setup: Location=/usr/local/bin

Guest-domain has no login
Hi *, as this is my first post I want to say hello to everybody. Well, and unfortunatly I''ve already got a question for you: I''ve installed a guest domain (OS: CentOS 4) on my xen-machine and it''s para-virtualised (just to provide the information ;) ). After the installation and mount the image containing the guest to copy the necessary modules for the xen-kernel,

Architectural questions
Greetings, I have some architectural questions regarding dovecot, and though I've half answered them by looking at the source, I'm also interested in hearing whether my (our) wishes and suggestions are already being considered (or can be considered, once built) for inclusion in dovecot itself. Let me first explain why I'm doing this. I work for XS4ALL, a fairly large ISP in the

Services not required?
I''m in the process of locking down as much of my systems here as possible as to available ports. I am down to only a handful but am not sure how much of a security risk they pose and was wondering if anyone here might be able to comment, or suggest secure versions to run: 21/FTP (WU-ftpd v2.4.2 BETA 14) 22/SSH (1.22) 23/TELNET (Netkit 0.09) 25/SMTP (Sendmail

ICMP
After the recent attacks on the major servers on the web my ISP has decided to stop all ICMP messages from his ISP. I have red the RFCs and it seems that he cant do that... As a result pings and traceroutes will not work. I need a friendly person out there to tell me a way to break the news to him that he has to allow ICMP packets through his network... any suggestions would be helpfull [mod:
