smb client problem
...writes "file not found" when I try to do anything with it. The TCP-connections are up and running (one for each mount) and I don't see any strange things on the NT4-server. If I run smbclient I see all new files created on the server and it looks normal. smbmount problem
Hello. I hope that this is the proper place to ask this. Here is my problem. I have several smbmounts under Red Hat Linux 5.1. They need to be accessed by my apache web server. One of the mounts keeps getting disconnected, but this is not noticed by Linux. So the Linux box thinks that the files under the smbmount are still accessable when they aren't actually mounted. Occasional problem with hanging SMB mounts.
...orking great, however, there have been occasional hiccups. Every so often, one of the servers, LINUX-ONE, logs a couple of Samba-related errors. The following is an example: Jun 30 06:30:45 mx-two kernel: smb_trans2_request: result=-104, setting invalid Jun 30 06:30:45 mx-two kernel: smb_retry: successful, new pid=553, generation=25 I believe this is due to the network connection used by the relevant SMBFS mount shutting down because of inactivity, and then being re-established when the mount is accessed. I haven't been worrying about these messages, however, recently I have...

Cannot access nt shares after a few minutes
Hi, I´ running samba 2.0.5a and Linux 2.2.5. After smbmount sucessfully mounted my four nt-shares it lost the connection after 15 or more minutes. I´ve no idea why. The log reads smb_retry: signal failed: error=-3 I can remount all shares every 5 minutes but this doesn´t seem to be a good solution. Anyone who has a fix for this?
