I wrote a replacement allocator for use by BumpPtrAllocator which uses mmap()/munmap() in place of malloc()/free(). I have one drive that I''m running OpenSolaris on and a 6-drive RAIDZ. Unfortunately I don''t have another drive to mirror the OS drive, so I was wondering what the best way to back up that drive is.
