CentOS Stream suitability as a production webserver
...Others
have said to think of CentOS more like RHEL RC-1. I just don't know how the
stability will compare and we have historically always chosen CentOS for
its stability (and of course price).
Sure, I could migrate to Ubuntu (I use this locally in WSL), but I've
become somewhat "comfy slippers" with CentOS and have built our setup
around it (including custom ansible scripts etc) and don't want to change
everything unncessarily.
Of course, a lot of this is somewhat dependent on what DigitalOcean will
decide to provide image wise moving forward.

OT: high static in server room
Hi guys,
Sorry for the OT.
For the last couple of weeks I notice that the static in my server
room is worrisomely noticeable.
I cannot see what may be causing it....
Care to share some of your experience what may be the cause and the remedy?
Thank you.

Login_engine - auth against email rather that username?
Hi all,

I find that people rarely remember usernames, and would prefer to use
email addresses as the identifier.
Thanks!

Status of Intel JCC Mitigations and Next Steps
I agree we shouldn’t try to guess what the user is trying to do. There shouldn’t be an unbounded set of heuristic rules; “documented” implies some sort of promise of stability in addition to the actual text in the manual. And we shouldn’t try to guess whether the user’s code cares about the length of a specific instruction.
I think you’re creating a false dichotomy here, though. There’s some

Hi all,
I fear this discussion will quickly devolve into a recursive flame-
fest, but it needs to be broached, so here we go. Note that I kind of
think this is more of dev topic than users, but I want to make sure
everyone knows the conversation is happening and can easily
participate. This is also likely to be the first of a series of
conversations I''ll be starting to try to
