[cfe-dev] More verbose -mspeculative-load-hardening
Another thing to consider about your feature idea is that the output may be
noisy depending on what you were hoping for.
SLH tries to mitigate anything that could potentially be a problem and thus
it instruments almost every branch, load, and function entry, for example.
There isn't a lot of signal about what is really a gadget among the code
instrumented by SLH. It really tries to be comprehensive and to avoid

Hi
I think llvm-dev list (CC'ed) have more visibility in this.

Couldn't open status file /var/adm/slh/samba/locks/STATUS..LC K
Gunnar,
Check (ll -d dirname) to make sure that there is at least x permission for
everyone in each directory down the /var/adm/slh/samba/locks path;
also, does the STATUS..LCK file exist in the named directory, and if so what
are the permissions on it?
Hope this helps,
Don

No. virt-sparsify will use the same input and output formats, unless
you use the --convert option.

My story installing Samba-LDAP PDC (it has a happy ending)
...it can access the LDAP
server.
smbpasswd -w <password>
I did this whithout problems.
>From this point on all the LDAP related information in SHC applies to Samba
2.2.x.
It talks about sambaSamAccount, but all described parameters apply to the
Samba 2.2.x sambaAccount. So I switch to SLH.
4. The first relevant thing I find is that there are some Ldap basic entries
(also with posixAccount).
SLH says:
"In the [SAMBA_3_0] and [HEAD] only a few basic entries are required: nobody
and administrator BUT an account with uidNumber=0 (root or administrator)
MUST ?be present if you need...

unkillable imap process(es) with high CPU-usage
...get rid of them is to
reboot.
I have found a mailing list post of one who seemed to have the same
problem. He solved it by upgrading to version 1.1. But in my case this
did not help.
Is this a known problem? What could I check or do?
My system:
very up to date debian/sid (sidux)
kernel 2.6.27-8.slh.1-sidux-686
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 4300 @ 1.80GHz
Filesystem: ext3fs
tried dovecot from sid: 1:1.0.15-2.3
tried dovecot from experimental: 1:1.1.2-3
My dovecot.conf is the original debian configuration with only one line
changed into:
protocols = imaps
# dovecot -n
# 1.1.2: /etc/dovec...

[RFC] Speculative Execution Side Effect Suppression for Mitigating Load Value Injection
...t may not be a complete mitigation
because it relies on enumerating specific side channel mechanisms. However,
it is applicable to more variants and styles of gadgets that can reach
speculative execution side channels than just traditional Spectre Variant 1
gadgets which speculative load hardening (SLH) targets much more narrowly

While there is a slight risk that this mitigation will be ineffective
against future side channels, we believe there is still significant value
in closing two side channel classes that are most actively exploited today:

Can I run multiple apps simultaneously?
I would like to compare and contrast code and effects from various
different tutorials and sample applications. Can I run, say, a mongrel
server from more than one app location? I know I can''t do that if
they''re both using port 3000 (I tried), but is it possible to configure
some apps to use a different port? Where would I do that? Most of the
apps are using mysql databases.

I don''t fully understand -m or -d. Why would this make a truer raid0 that with no options?
Is it necessary to use fdisk on new drives in creating a BTRFS multi-drive array? Or is this all that''s needed:
